Their assimilation into the System makes them enemies of the paranoid powers that be on Earth, and they find themselves cut off. No communications with family, no resupply, they're on their own on a mostly dead world.

And nearly every form of life they do encounter is out to kill them.

Join Commander Fletcher and her crew as they struggle to survive a new world with new but familiar rules.

This is a amazing beginning to a series I intend to follow to the end. I loved the overall view we get of the characters, its a different and refreshing take on character perspective. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who will listen.

I love the idea that there is an old game-like system on Mars. most of this book feels like set up but there are some wonderful and fun moments!

The narrators did such a good job here! I didn't think I was going to like a duo but they nailed it.

Finally!!! a system based book that doesn't involve a singular MC, an over powered character, an apocalypse of some kind, or any other hero complex, or world halting disaster. we get a fresh take on it. with a group of scientists, who have a healthy amount of scepticism and paranoia about an unknown factor. they assimilate, they test each other, make sure the thing isn't dangerous, then they test their new abilities instead of just rushing head long into the abyss. I loved it. I need book 2 please.

This book has a good mix of Tech and Myth bouncing both out in a way that allows us to understand the basic principle against societies interacting with and with other societies going through different branches can't seem so they are using magic it integrates North mythology into a modern day worldAs well as what would happen if to opposing sidis 2 opposing sides wearing a secret warFor the very survival of the human race and how that would look

It is very similar to the many other LitRPG titles... I do like the unique setting on Mars. I found it better than I would have expected, I'm just wondering when the sequel will hit the catalogue
