Publisher's summary

The matchmaker:

Lady Philippa Willoughby is known for hosting many gatherings and celebrations at the castle. Somewhat meddlesome at times, she has taken it upon herself to play matchmaker to the villagers. This, along with her carefree ways, causes her to be the brunt of gossip that she is an improper lady. When her father betroths her to a Frenchman she has never met, she rebels, planning on finding a match for herself at her upcoming St. Valentine's Day dance.

The novice:

Lord Etienne de Beynac, the youngest of six boys, has managed to disgrace his family with his wild ways. When his father and brothers disown him, he has no choice but to agree to his father's terms. He joins a monastery as a novice across the channel, in England.

Etienne gets one last chance for redemption before he finalizes his vows to live the rest of his life as a monk. As a favor to his brother, he goes to Grimsthorpe Castle to spy on his brother's betrothed, Lady Philippa. He needs to find out if she is a proper lady with whom his family can align. But once there, he discovers a strong attraction to Lady Philippa that threatens his plans to be a monk.

Will a St. Valentine's Day dance bring two outcasts together in love? And will a man slated for a life of celibacy and poverty be able to put down the rosary and pick up the sword to fight for the woman he loves?

Heartfelt!

Elizabeth Rose has given us another great heartwarming story of a lady who was a matchmaker and giver of fun parties. Then a noble man that was in a position to become a monk came into her life and sparks fly. Kevin did a fantastic job narrating it.

Sweet romance

This is a really cute story. I loved all of the Valentine traditions and the preparations for the Valentine’s Day celebration. Another sweet, clean romance in this series.
This is not Kevin E. Green’s best narrating. This story calls for French accents. Unfortunately this narrator would attempt a French accent but then he would speak normally. It was a slight distraction, but the story is really good.

Love this author!

I love the fact that, even in 2024, I can find a good book that has no cuss words and no sex. I can safely recommend this book to my early-teen granddaughter!

love, or being a monk?

This is book 2 of this series, there is a question that has to be answered. Does Lord Etienne de Beynac stay with the monks and keep his word or does he go after a woman that is his brother's betrothed? There is a chance for Lord Etienne de Beynac to finally have true love but he only has to break his vows of becoming a monk and go against his family once again.

Match made Hearts

The hero and heroine do a lot of personal growth in Matchnade Hearts by Elizabeth Rose. They are antagonists to begin with but grow on each other. It’s a very good short story packed with surprises.

Loved this entertaining story

Etienne - his family is ashamed of his wild ways sent him to England to become a monk
philippa - a matchmaker for the lower class and enjoys throwing parties.
I enjoyed reading/listening to this captivating story of an " outsider " finding love . Their story has a good HEA but needs an epilogue!
Narrated by Kevin E Green who did a wonderful job making each character voice unique and in telling the story!.

matchmaker

Pippa is known as a matchmaker and she's also looking out for her younger brother. Etienne is sent away from his homeland to a priory to become a monk, because his father was tired of his antics and he was the youngest of 6 brothers.
He goes to Pippas father's castle at his brother's request to see if the woman his father betrothed him to was worthy of him. Instead Etienne ends up falling for her himself. He also helps her little brother to gain confidence in himself and many other good deeds.
All the while knowing he would never become a monk, but not keying in Pippa or her family until it's too late.
All ends in a Happily ever after even for Etienne's brother.
