Publisher's summary

It's been a long time since criminal defence attorney David Cavanaugh has heard his childhood friend Chris Kincaid speak of Marilyn Maloney; for hers is a name from the past, from a time when David, Chris, and the third in the gang of three, Mike, vowed never to let a girl get in the way of their friendship. But now Chris is the "successful, happily married US Senator for New Jersey", and when he pleads with David to return home to help him locate the girl he "used" to love, David reluctantly agrees, leaving his wife and baby daughter behind in Boston.

What starts as a favour to a friend soon turns into a major murder investigation when a woman's bruised and battered body is hauled from the freezing waters of the Passaic. Marilyn is dead, Chris is charged with her murder, and David faces the harrowing responsibility of defending one childhood friend accused of killing another....

Not So Bad

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I found this book very interesting. Enough so that I am searching for this author's other books. The reader also did a good job with his inflections for several characters. I would recommend this as a well written book.

What did you like best about this story?

Absolute rubbish

I recently read Sydney Bauer's 'Undertow' which is one of the best books I've read this year. I immediately went looking for other books by this sensational author (I'd never heard of). I listened to two hours of this meaninglyless drivel and gave it away. I felt insulted that an authour could waste a reader's/listener's time with such meaninless nonsense.

So very bad

Redundant to the inth degree. I have enjoyed this authors books in the past but this one...........???? The content of this novel could have filled 2-3 chapters instead of dragging us painfully through hours and hours and hours of dribble. I'm close to the end now but honestly don't think I care enough to finish.
