Interesting in a good way

I really enjoyed this story. The narrator did a great job with the story and really kept me involved. The characters have been through a lot and their lesson learned is fantastic. I love their ending too.

Exquisite Beauty, Exquisite Misery

Exquisite Beauty, Exquisite Misery...a total confusion of a read / listen. Mac Bhriain is a dark specter / demon and Annora doesn't believe in the paranormal and for the most part is so innocent. I was a little disappointed in how naïve Annora was but loved her juxtaposition. Mac Bhriain was not as complex but had character growth. I loved the dynamic between these characters. Such a unique and interesting story line...I hope there is more to come!

A strange place I would love to visit.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I wasn't sure if I would during the first chapter. I'm really glad I continued because it's really funny. It has snappy dialogue and very interesting characters. Things are always changing in the book, even the story. I voluntarily reviewed this audiobook after receiving an advanced copy.

Checking in for Love with a Demon!

Ok. First of be aware the cover is a bit misleading...this takes place in current times. That being said...this book was oddly fascinating. It is a story of finding your way back from the internal darkness you find yourself in from the horrible things life can throw at you but in a style I can only describe as a seedy version of Beatlejuice. It is not a comedy...this is a look at some hard issues.

There is drug use and the darker side of the bedroom but it was what you'd expect of a ancient demon of hell. It took a while but Mac Bhriain McCarrion grew on me. Annora is a real woman with a troubled past who blocked out the first half of her life's troubles (ignoring the obvious), and haunted by the second. I really wanted to see how this hotel would help to bring these two together for their HEA...yes I said the hotel.

If you are in the mood for a little kink with a totally unique storyline give this one a try.

I was given this book for an honest review.

A very unique and an intriguing and odd story

This review is based on an audiobook that I received. It is an honest review and the complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.

'Meeting with my maker: Hotel Paranormal' by Calinda B. is a short story of Annora Lachmann and Mac Bhriain McCarrion. This is audiobook one in "The Hotel Paranormal' Series. This series has 16 books already what are written by various authors. This audiobook is about 5 hours and 30 minutes long that does have a semi closed end.

The narrater, Jeremie Burbey has a nice voice. He is easy to listen to. I always needs to get used to someone voice, but in his case it didnt take long. His pronounciation is very good. The sound quality is also good. it was nice and clear. Jeremie Burbey's acting skills brought the characters to life.

Even tough I finished this book I'm still not sure if I like or dislike this book. I'm a bit in turmoil. I definitely find this book very unique and an intriguing and odd story. Not so bad of read, short story, intriguing characters, a bit of humor and a whole lot of strange that’s for sure. Wasn’t sure if the book was for me , it might be for you.

Mac Bhriain McCarrion, a shadow specter from hell that is trapped in the walls behind in Annora room. I would more likely say trapped in the mirror in Annora room. A demon of course with
Annora Lachmann is human who really didn’t realize all the secrets she carried around about her parents

The characters were great. I loved how Annora's character developed as the story went on and how David and the Hotel were always there for her, changing according to her needs, and all. David is very funny. I really like his dry humor. However, Mac Bhraian was my favorite. That freaking horny demon was unbelievable. His occurrences made me laugh quite a few times and Min.. Oh my goodness, that hell horse was so cute and funny I wanted to have him.

So, if you feel like reading a steamy paranormal short novel, you should give 'Meeting with My Maker: Hotel Paranormal' a try. You won't regret it.

An Interesting Demon Story

Would you consider the audio edition of Meeting with My Maker to be better than the print version?

The Audio Edition very may well be better than the print version due to the outstanding voice performance.

What did you like best about this story?

Although, this was set in modern times, despite what the cover looks like, I enjoyed the conversation between the two main characters. The sex adventures/exploration, the setting of the hotel. It all blended very well together.

Which character – as performed by Jeremie Burbey – was your favorite?

The characters of Mac Bhriain McCarrion was well performed by Jeremie Burbey. It's always a bit weird for a male to play a female voice and vise versa. But Jeremie fit Mac well.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Where all Demons stay.

Excellent audio book

Absolutely loved this book in audio format. It took me a minute to realize what was going on but after that it was smooth sailing. I love Calinda B. and her writing. It as an amazingly written book and great in audio too. To write a book with so much depth and so many different things interwoven is awesome. You are surprised at every turn in the book even having it read to you. I couldn't quit listening to it. I was so happy with this audio book. I highly recommend it. Outside my normal genre

I really enjoyed some aspects of this book, and others not so much. The narration was very good, but the subject of the book just wasn't my thing. There is a lot of sex, but too much death for me. Typically I do listen and enjoy dark books, but I haven't listened to many paranormal books. (I think that is why I didn't enjoy it more.) My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher, and/or narrator.

Listened to it in several settings; was on the beach
