a-nether, not another.

the narrator does agreat job, except for saying the word, another, very strangely. he says it like A-nether. not sure why, bc he says other fine and an fine, but when he says them together it all falls apart.

Not satisfied

Sorry to say that some stories like the stripper story was just not believable as an MIB story.
I wish that the writer would have included more research.
the chapter on the MIB hand book guy that "remote view " an MIB manager was where the book lost me .

terrible performance

sound quality sounded like a laptop microphone. also the reader should really have made multiple takes of most of his reading and was choppy. he seemed perpetually confused.

Great book terrible narrator

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend it for all the information and writing style.

How could the performance have been better?

It could be better in every conceivable way. Next time please spend the money on a professional reader and recording equipment.

A good book, not the best narrator.

An interesting read made lackluster by a narrator who stumbled over and mispronounced words as well as had an overall cheery disposition that didn’t fit the material. Otherwise interesting accounts.

Sheesh

The narration contains a number of mispronunciations, not just names but commonly used words like "christened". The stories are largely anecdotal organized slightly less well than the average Reddit thread. Many have only the most minor similarity to the kind of MIB reports popularized by John Keel in his writing.

I generally enjoy Redfern as a paranormal personality but this book, as well as the weak narration deliver nothing worthwhile.

Not the Redfern book you were looking for.

The contents of this audiobook vary wildly from unusual but reasonable stories from intelligent people to Absolute works of Madness. This is not helped At All by the narrator's inability to pronounce common words in English. Morley Shulman needs a better microphone, a studio, and a class on diction.

Interesting content, terrible narrator

This isn't really original content from Redfern, rather it's a collection of essays by acquaintances or anecdotes and content shared with Redfern by others.
Some are more interesting than others, but for the serious students of ufology – especially those with an interest in high strangeness – there is some material worth taking in.

The narrator, however, makes the listening a struggle. From his odd pronunciation of words like surveillance and his mispronunciation of ufology to the general tone of his voice, it's distracting. He also has odd pauses, re-reads certain lines like he's lost his place, and is generally a horrible narrator. But, if you can get past that, there is some meat to pick from the bones of this book.

Narrator is not good...

This narrator is irritating. He pronounces words incorrectly, he seems to end sentences with his tone before the sentence actually ends, and he emphasizes words strangely. It makes me wonder if this guy has ever read anything out loud before. Also, did anyone attempt to edit this at all? Did anyone even listen to it before they submitted it to Audible?
Nick Redfern has a lot of really interesting stories to tell. It would be nice if they got someone who would do his stories justice.

Great book. Terrible narration.

Great book. Terrible narration. I basically agree 100% with another reviewer. I always enjoy and respect Nick Redfern’s writing, however, the narration of this book has many issues. Many common words are repeatedly mispronounced. The narrator pauses every few words - in the middle of most sentences. It’s quite annoying to listen to.
