About this listen

Zanders: Chicago hockey isn't complete without me—everyone's favorite player to hate. I know my role, and I play it well. In fact, I thoroughly enjoy spending the majority of my game time in the penalty box before leaving the arena with a new girl on my arm each night.

What I don't like is the new flight attendant on our team's private plane. She works for me, not the other way around. But I'll be sure to remind her of that, and I can guarantee, by the end of the season, she'll be begging to quit her job.

But every road trip blurs the lines, and I can't quite figure out if I keep pushing that flight attendant call button in order to push her buttons or if it's more than that.

Stevie: I've been a flight attendant for years. I thought I'd see it all, but when my new job lands me onboard working for the most egotistical and self-righteous diva in the NHL, I start to second guess everything. Including the promise I made to myself of never hooking up with an athlete again . . . no matter how annoyingly tempting he may be.

Zanders is unfiltered, unapologetic, and too attractive for his own good. He loves his image, but I hate everything about it.

Everything but him.

Contains mature themes.

Male narrator is hard to listen to

The male narrator sounds like an older gentleman maybe in his 50s, it was very difficult and awkward to listen to at times. I understand they are POC but this man was obviously not in his 20s and overall had a very poor performance. The inflection in certain times was weird and creepy

Well, This was really good.

Originally I thought that this was just long; 16 hours. I enjoyed all of it. Contrary to folk who do not like the narrators I enjoyed them. They sound like African American characters.

Too Long but a Good Hockey Romance

The beginning of Mile High was okay. Zanders was a bit annoying, but he grew on me. I liked Stevie. What I didn’t like was all of the fat shaming that occurred throughout the book. The book was too long, and I was bored for about a fourth of the book. Zanders was an idiot during the 3rd act break up, but the end ending was really good.

Loved the story

This was a great love story with some spicy. I really enjoyed the story and the characters in the book. I audio was not the best but I moved past that once I started listening.

Loved it!

This is my first book by this author and it won’t be my last! I was hooked from the very moment I started it and didn’t want to put it down! Luckily I listened to most of it I didn’t have too! This was pretty much a one sit read/listen. If you love sports, workplace forbidden romances then make sure to add this one to your tbr! I absolutely loved Stevie and Zanders. Stevie was such a great relatable character. I could see myself so much in her! Zanders was perfect for her! He will be added to the ever growing list of book boyfriends! Just as much as I loved the main characters, I loved the side characters just as much! This was definitely a book that I wasn’t ready to end!

Audio lovers: the narrators did a fantastic job on this one. They truly brought the story to life!

Obsessed!

I was nervous about getting into this series because of the hype, but man, oh man, did it live up to the hype! This was such a fantastic book! This was an audio read for me, and I really enjoyed the narrators as well.

This man was the BEST!! The way he made Stevie feel about herself! Dear Lord!! Every single woman with body insecurities needs a man like Zanders! I loved the personal growth we see from both Zanders and Stevie. And the banter! The way they fed off of each other was perfect! The chemistry was amazing!! I loved all the side characters as well! This was an amazing book and audio, and I can not wait to read the next one!

Great Banter

Loved the banter between the two characters. Great emphasis on the mental health and self acceptance of the characters.

Stevie Girl 🥰🥰🥰

I really enjoyed this story and the narrators were great and brought this story to life. I feel the narrators really captured the personality of the characters as written in the book. I loved that the two MCs faced their fears and insecurities to come together and get their HEA!! I loved that they accepted each other for who they were.

“You following me?” ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I alternated between reading and audible for this book. The narrators were amazing. Normally I prefer reading over listening but for this one I enjoyed listening more. I think I almost blushed myself hearing “You following me?” 😂 Cute story with a beautiful message about loving yourself for who you are. The author has a wonderful way with words that really have you connect with the characters.

Long but still worth it

This was a reread for me, but the first time I’ve listened to it. I’m a big fan of this author and the series. If I were to make one critique, it’s that this book is too long. But I believe this was Liz Tomforde’s debut novel so I’ll give that a bit of a pass. Though the other books in this series are kind of long too so maybe she’s just been a bit of a long winded author. Still love her. But I feel like this genre should be around 350 pages max.

Also, I liked the narration well enough except the male e voices for other characters. Particularly Rio. Why did he make him sound so weird every time? I’ve already listened to the other three books in the series and luckily those narrators don’t make Rio sound like that. Can’t wait for Rio’s book.
