Week 8: In Depth Entrepreneur Interviews

This is the eighth in a unique eight-week Business Mentoring Programme designed FOR entrepreneurs BY entrepreneurs.

Weeks 5 to 8 of the program delve deeper into the mindset of self-made millionaire entrepreneurs and explore the full range of subjects from Risk to making a million. Each day, for around 30 minutes, you'll hear one entrepreneur share his or her individual story with you, entertaining you, motivating you, and inspiring you as you learn.

  • Day 36: Sir Christopher Evans gives you a unique insider's view of what it takes to take 20 companies public. Sir Christopher is one of the UK's most respected Bioscience entrepreneurs and after this interview you will never doubt that there is a millionaire mindset.
  • Day 37: Stephen Streater went to Cambridge but abandoned his Phd (advanced degree) to create a company that spawned Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Stephen has gone on to repeat his success in a new venture.
  • Day 38: Michael Smith will share with you the highs and lows of his journey and provide you with a framework so that you can enjoy the highs and skip the lows. Michael started Firebox, a toy company, in the heat of the Internet boom. Unlike other entrepreneurs, Michael (and Firebox) is one of the few that has stood the test of time.
  • Day 39: Tim Etchells shares the timeless lessons and universal theories he lives by as a respected entrepreneur operating at the highest level in the exhibition industry. Tim spells out word-by-word what you need to do to replicate his level of success.
  • Day 40: Nick Wheeler started his company while still at university. After a brief spell as a management consultant, Nick became an entrepreneur again and has never looked back. Nick shows you how to build a strong business year on year and develop the inner mindset you need to make it happen.

Free Enterprise from a British Perspective

Where does Millionaire MBA Business Mentoring Programme, Week 8 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I list the entire Millionaire MBA Business Mentoring Programme (9 editions) among my top 10% of all audiobooks in my library. They are not long, only about 2 hrs per week, nor are they designed to be listened to in one sitting.

What did you like best about this story?

It is a series of anecdotes, interviews really, of successful entrepreneurs in the British Isles. The interviewer stays out of the way and lets the guests speak freely. Most of the ideas given by these successful men and women are applicable in the US and Canada.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Let mistakes be mistakes. Do not be angry or obsessed by the problem. Look at it, get some input from others, figure out the best plan of action you can implement immediately, then get it going.

Also, develop teams. Have an internal team consisting of yourself and any employees. Have an external team of advisers who are not a part of the business. Get a mentor or two.

Any additional comments?

These programs are set up like a mini-course on entrepreneurship. I would recommend taking notes. Even though each day's lesson is only 20-30 minutes long it is too easy to miss something of value if you listen casually.
