Gets it done in under 3 hours 🔥

Better written than the average romance quickie. The characters were introduced well and developed to the point I was comfortable with them. Michelle, in an emotional breakdown, recklessly drives in a winter storm up a mountain that has no cellular reception. She is stranded and begins to walk hoping to find a home around the bend. Two men stop and decide she’s an easy target but their assault is stopped by Jason, a sexy fireman coming home from his shift. In the scuffle, the bad men take Jason’s truck as well as their car leaving Jason and Michelle stranded in the storm. Jason is a hero, so...

Alan Taylor has a smooth, semi-deep voice. His narration technique is top-notch. The only thing that would have made this narration better was some huskiness added to the big and sexy, mountain firefighter’s voice!

👍🏻👍🏻 Two Thumbs Up for acing the short romance category.

Likeable characters+well written romantic suspense

I recently listened to this on Audible immediately after another novel (by a different author) with the identical premise – two strangers snowbound, falling in love. While both stories were short (about 3 Audible hours), and the characters had good chemistry, fell in love/lust during their forced time together, I found this to be the superior of the two stories. That’s because neither the hero nor the heroine swore in a jarring manner, and the sexual tension between them built at a better pace. The couple was respectful to each other, and able to resist their sexual urges for longer. For me, this somehow elevated the quality of the story. Add in a little danger and suspense, and the story became a thrill to finish.

Author Cheryl Yeko is a happy discovery for me. I’ve gone on to listen to this entire series. She consistently writes likeable main characters, and compelling romantic suspense stories.

The narrator, Alan Taylor, was new to me, but I found his voice sympathetic and easy to listen to, even when he was reading from the heroine’s point of view. I look forward to hearing him narrate again.

Short and Hot

Cheryl Yeko wrote a lot in this short book. I enjoyed the imagery in this story. The characters of Michelle and Jason are drawn to each other out of circumstance. Michelle is fleeing a broken engagement while Jason is on his way home from work. He steps in as a hero, and gets so much more. Alan Taylor did a great job with his distinguished voices for the various characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I would definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Hero to the rescue

Mountain Hero
: Cheryl Yeko

A story that reached my upper level of steamy. Most people that like contemporary romance will probably think lukewarm. There is a bit of excitement and adventure to go along with the romance.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Alan Taylor has that dreamy hero voice.

Hold Me Closer Hottie Firefighter

YEKO gives the reader a solid scenario. Michelle is scorned and in need of saving. Jason, a firefighter, is a natural-born knight in shining armor. The bad guys are bad. They provide the initial burst of adrenaline that Michelle and Jason run with all the way to the end.

MOUNTAIN HERO was a nice nugget of a romance. Being short it walked the line of a perfectly paced build. The action and story are evenly paced and developed. Jason's calm and strength make him easy to fall for. But Michelle was a little uneven. Understandable, but her character bounced back and forth between "save me" and "I'll save myself". It made it a little hard to see what Jason saw in her. But who am I to deny some much-needed body heat in a mountain storm.

ALAN TAYLOR was kind of stoic with a touch of fire that made him a perfect voice for Jason. It matched his calm with something yummy just underneath the surface. But he did lack last touch of huskiness that would have brought home all the FEELS.

Good short story

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was a good quick romance. Some of the scenes were unbelievable such as trudging two miles in the snow with just a sweater and sneakers. But the rescue and subsequent scenes were well written. Loved the switching caves scene and the brother finding them. The narration was very well done and made the story come to life.

An Ok Story not the greatest audio voice

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Somewhat

Any additional comments?

Michelle being distraught over finding her best friend and ex-fiancé in a compromising position, she takes off to a cabin. Along the way she runs into car troubles in the middle of snow storm. She finds herself in a bit of trouble along the way but in comes Jason, a local firefighter, to rescue her…
My thoughts, well I am on the fence with one. I wasn’t thrilled with the voice that was used in the audiobook, first off. Secondly the first 2/3 of the book described how Jason and Michelle survived the snow storm in a cave that was not far away from where her car troubles happened. The storyline seemed almost to predicable…

What's not to love about a hero?

Michelle is heading to a cabin she rented to escape the current mess of her life. She's just caught her fiancé cheating with her best friend, and realizes that while she's mostly story about losing her best friend, she needs to get out of town fast and get herself together. Her car breaks down right before a snow storm, and just when she thinks she might be rescued, the rescuers turn out to be thieves and attackers. She is rescued a second time by a sexy fireman on his way home from his shift. Jason (sexy fireman) is able to get them both away from the attackers, but at the expense of their vehicles. Now they stuck in the Colorado wilderness in a strong winter storm. As they struggle to survive the night, they find they are extremely attracted to one another and both hope that there may be a future with the other if they can make it through the night and out of danger.

I thought both main characters were very likable. They are both sexy and the author does a good job of helping the reader feel the chemistry and sexual tension between the two. The story was exciting, but there weren't a lot of surprises in terms of the plot. That said, if you are in the mood for a classic romance with an enjoyable story, some good steam, and a little action- this is for you. I would have liked a little more length, but probably because I enjoyed these characters and would have enjoyed spending more time with them and seeing their story develop even further.

The narrator has a very nice voice, and does a good job of relaying Michelle and Jason's story.
