Publisher's summary

A murder. A wedding reception. Not a good start to wedded bliss.

Plenty of quirky suspects including the wealthy rancher who's still in love with the best man's wife, the smarmy minister who ran against him for county supervisor in the recent election, the estranged stepmother of his wife, his sister-in-law's drug-addicted ex-husband, and his ex-girlfriend whose family has strong Mafia ties.

As always, plenty of recipes, dogs, and good food in this popular cozy mystery series by a two-time USA Today best-selling author.

Like someone yelling on your ear for 4 hours

I really didn't care for the book, but have to think a different narrator might have made it more enjoyable. When speaking in a character voice it flowed OK and while not really smooth, at least sounded human and was understandable. When speaking the part of the narrator I felt like someone was yelling in my ear in an extremely choppy staccato style. There were pauses between words that simply didn't need to be there. I gave up completely after about 2 hours.

Not my favorite cozy mystery but it was okay,

The story line is a little corny, It is not a story I would listen to over again. The story does stand alone.

The narration left a lot to be desired. I did listen to a sample but when you are listening to the entire story you pick up issues. Some areas in the narration felt like it was being read by someone who had not read the story before, IT did not flow well.

I recieved this book at my request and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Murder Mystery Another Amateur Sleath

I got hooked on Mysteries where an Amateur Sleuth helps the police solve these cases.

As I have read almost everything she has written, I have been looking for similar situations by another author. I think I may have found one.

The mysteries stem from realistic murder situations and include realistic situations that could happen to an Amateur Sleuth. Enjoyed this book that came to life by the narrator. I think this author’s books will be part of my reading list.

Check these out as I go looking for my next one.

unlikable characters and cheesy

What a pathetic group of characters! Ugh! Broken engagements, spurned lovers, and many possible villains. There were several less than scrupulous characters and some even shady actions to consider as possible villains. I was a bit put off with the lack of integrity of some of the men and women!!! All the characters seem like small town gossips and weren't likable. Liz was tolerable. I was SICK TO DEATH of hearing about the postponed honeymoon. I'm sure the marriage was consummated without it, so what's the big deal???? When this wasn't cheesy it was syrupy sickening sweet. Overkill. Less is more, please!!! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.

Entertaining

Murder at the Bed and Breakfast is an entertaining cozy mystery. While it is a part of a series, it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone without feeling lost. I appreciate that the main characters are middle aged with grown children and still having adventures. The narrator gave a nice performance.

Enjoyable story

Murder at the Bed and Breakfast #4 in the Liz Lucas Cozy mystery series is a fun story with a lot of quirky characters. There is no lack of suspects in the death of a friend’s sister on Liz and Roger’s wedding day. Liz and Roger delay their honeymoon to help solve the crime. The narration by Kelli Petroski is very good. This is a nice series for a relaxing day.

Murder At the Bed and Breakfast

There’s a lot of interesting characters in this mystery! And many possible suspects. Liz and Roger are finally going to get married. But unfortunately a relative of Roger’s good friend Bob is murdered during their reception. Bob’s wife and Liz decide to do some investigating on their own. Dianne’s mysteries are always fun cozy mysteries. There’s always a dog or more in the story. And she includes recipes as well.

Not so Cozy Mystery

The storyline was a little to cheesy and the characters were just a bunch of pathetic wimps. I usually love cozy mysteries but not this one. I did not like the racial slur that was thrown around and it really soured me on the whole book making it hard for me to get through. This is my honest unbiased review. I will never get back the time it took me to listen to this book. I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.
