The narration was perfect with its delicious Italian accents by CJ and Dane, the building romance was so sweet and addictive, the plot had a good balance of everything I love in a Mafia romance and once again Giana has delivered a five star book. HOWEVER, the cliffhanger had me screeching like a banshee because I thought it was a standalone rather than a Duet which I wouldn’t of started if I’d known I’d have to wait until October for the conclusion. 🤬😢

Thirty-four yo Raffa just wanted to be Guinevere’s knight in shining armour instead of the dark Capo people feared and, for some reason, this shy but strong twenty-three yo American virgin brought out a side of Raffa he’d never felt before. Patient, thoughtful, kind, possessive and very protective.. so, what harm would it do to pretend to this tourist he’s just a wealthy businessman for the few weeks she’s staying in his country? And what will be the fate of sweet Guinevere, who’s living out her dreams of visiting Florence while falling in love with the perfect man? Well unfortunately we’ll all have to wait until October to find out the conclusion after their bubble bursts in a nasty cliffhanger.

Worth a credit? Yes, I really enjoyed it.. but it did lose a star because of Guinevere’s reaction when the 💩hits the 🪭.

I love a good mafia story. Danger and Spice are my go to listens, and this didn't disappoint. Started as a bit of a slow burn, but that ramped up the anticipation, and once the spice hit, it was spicing. Raffa & Guinevere were great characters that I really want more of. The narration was spectacular, both of them nailing every single scene. I cannot wait for the follow up - because I was not thrilled how it ended, I have issues and questions. But I'm sure the conclusion will take us on a ride.

"My Dark Fairy Tale" was a rollercoaster of emotions and a free vacation to Florence at the same time. The scenarios in this book were immaculate, and I found myself wondering if I could spend a summer in Italy like my girl Guinevere.

I adore this book to pieces from the Italy vibes to the possessive male main character to the genuine and authentic Guinevere. Everything was so well done. So perfectly well written.

There's always something about mafia romance that makes me giggle every time, and it's undoubtedly how the mmc Hates (and hurts!) everyone but her and Raffa, let me tell you... NAILED IT in this trope.

Guinevere was one of those female main characters that I loved to meet and thst I was rooting since the beginning.

The plot was so immersive and addictive that I couldn't put this one down for even a second. I loved the chemistry between them, the moments and especially the side characters!

Giana let me on the edge of my seat... again. And now I don't know what to do with my life while I am waiting for book two because excuse me, how can I move on?

Please pick this one. It's such an addictive and bingeable book.

I don't read a lot of mafia romance but Raffaele and Guinevere's story is delicious. This is a perfect blend of spice and intriguing plot. The romance is a slight slow burn but they keep you on your toes.

And after that cliffhanger I can't wait for book 2!

CJ Bloom and Dane Anderson did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life. I will say I usually listen at 1.75 speed and had to slow it down a little because Dane's Italian accent was to good and I was struggling to understand the thick accent. However they nailed these characters and I have no complaints otherwise!

I will devour anything and everything she writes because I just know it will be a banger of a read.

I loved Raffa and Guinevere with my whole heart. These two were full of chemistry and they did not disappoint. Raffa was such an alpha male but it was very clear that Guinevere is his soft spot because he would do *anything* to keep her safe.

I loved the story of Guinevere travelling to Italy to learn more about her family history...and I hope she gets some answers in the next book!

Their meet-cute started off the book super strong and had me hooked right from the beginning! And now we have to wait until OCTOBER to finish their story! Eek!!

This was another recommendation from the Gram and it was BANGER!!! The audio was so yummy and added so much to the story. I love a good romantic suspense, what I don’t love is a freaking CLIFFHANGER!! I cannot wait for the next book in this duet to come out in October!

Guinevere has always been interested in her Italian culture, but her parents always shut her down when she starts to ask questions. While facing health concerns her only distraction is planning an amazing Italian adventure, one her father forbids her to go on. Her health is fragile and after her sisters tragic death her parents don’t want her to ever leave their sight. This doesn’t stop Guinevere and she decides to lie and go off on her own. Only to be stranded on the side of the road when a stranger offers to help, but then attacks her. As she begins running in the middle of nowhere she finds a road, just as another car is turing the corner and hits her. Out steps Raffele, not the same kind of predator as before, but a predator none the less.
