Bittersweet, but more sweet than bitter

Would you consider the audio edition of My Henry to be better than the print version?

Yes! With the audio version I am free to be transported in a magical realm and still able to continue whatever I am working on. Instead of vacuuming the carpet today I was striding alongside Henry and Gracie as they traveled.

Any additional comments?

Without giving anything away, all I can really say is that this story needs a sequel!

1st Experience with an audio book - My Henry

What did you love best about My Henry?

The storyline was right up my alley of what I enjoy in both books and movies. Fantasy, magic, the possibilities of what if's, love, a touch of reality. This book had a touch of all of them.

Who was your favorite character and why?

That's a toss up between Gracie and Henry. On one hand I loved Henry and who his character was, but on the other hand I was envious of Gracie for getting a glimpse into a world I want to be in so I got to share that with her.

Have you listened to any of Dora Gaunt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my 1st experience with both an audio book and with listening to Dora. At first I had a little bit of a hard time and lost concentration a few times (I'm use to reading and bringing the story to life in my own mind with my own voice) but before I knew I it got easier to listen while doing other things online. Her voice was very calming, kept my attention and I quickly found the experience very enjoyable. I was able to do other things while being sweep away into the story and actually picturing the events. THAT'S when you know I love a book, if I'm living it, and she took me on that journey.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes the ending. I will not type any spoilers for the ending here but I will say I yelled NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO at the ending that it was over and would like BOOK TWO PLEASE! I'd like to see that story continue and take me further.

Any additional comments?

Thank you for the fun and excitement of a good book!

a bittersweet tale

Would you listen to My Henry again? Why?

I will! I love the storyline and will listen again to pick up on details that I may have missed.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mishy! The best friend we all wish that we had in high school. I loved how she was there for Grace in every way possible.

Have you listened to any of Dora Gaunt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my first experience listening to this narrator. I very much enjoyed the emotion she added to each character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to the story in one setting and enjoyed it very much.

Charming tale

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. As a matter of fact I am going to get a copy for my nephew who loves to listen to books.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the fairy tale charm.

What about Dora Gaunt’s performance did you like?

Dora does a great job and brings a lot of enthusiasm to these characters which works wonderfully in this fantasy setting.

Any additional comments?

It is a charming story that is great for both YA and adult. I think there is something here for just about everyone to enjoy.
