Publisher's summary

Are you an amateur musician, singer, or songwriter trying to make a living out of your hobby? Or perhaps you’re already a seasoned professional who knows his/her way around but still cannot master the business side of music making? Regardless of your act, there are certain things you must know that are truly critical for your success and without them you just won't build anything sustainable.

Often times, music business guides concentrate too much on the unnecessary technical details of the music business (does anyone really need to read about a typical tour rider?). Or really minor aspects of music production (does anyone really care how much you should EQ the highs of your guitar track?). However, rarely do these books try to create a complete system of knowledge and show you what and how to prioritize when building your business.

My Music - My Business was designed differently. It is an indispensable book for those, who are thinking of finally taking their music business seriously. It’s meant to be the foundation of your future business, and will help you finally advance your career as a musician.

Here is what you’re going to learn inside:

  • The exact list of crucial things to focus and develop in yourself and your craft to have a long-lasting music career
  • Who provides the highest value in your music business team and who you should ignore at all costs
  • The foundational industry guide - from key personas in your career, to the legal questions, your royalties, and record deals
  • The right approach to building your loyal following
  • The sources of income - what, how and where to get paid for your music
  • And so much more!

If you ever wondered where should you begin and what you should focus on to start making money from your music, then do not wait any longer. Buy My Music - My Business today!

A Well written book

Very interesting and thought provoking...It gives factual insight about the inner workings, evolution and eventual decline of black radio and is a great read for any artist, music lover or anyone just who wants a better understanding of how the music business and radio industry came to be what it is now. I would highly recommend it

Excellent***

I found it highly intriguing to gain an understanding of the amount of acumen some rock-stars possess. One of thing I shouldn't leave out is that the author is a fan himself and does a wonderful job maintaining a fan's-eye-view of what, at the end of a day, is his job.

Nice guide

If you want to be a more informed music business owner/manager, and you don't feel like wasting your time sifting through frilly his verbose crap, just click buy and start listening this audio. Take a look at his other book Start Your Music Business as well.

I'm glad they suggested this to me.

I reached out to some people around the music team in our school and they suggested this book. I found several ideas here that I like which weren’t present in the previous book I read.

One of the good ones.

I wish Tim Sivers would release new works of his soon. I was impressed with this and it’s one of the good titles in audible today.

Must have and one suggestion.

If you're serious about the music industry and want a perfect foundation for it - then I'd reaaally recommend this one. Only one suggestion - maybe in future it would be good to cover digital part of the business separately (digital marketing, playlists etc)

Great book, recommended

I got both books of Tim (this one and the part about playlisting).
I think this is a great set of books. It's a must have for ALL musicians, no exceptions. If you're serious about your music and ready to treat is as a BUSINESS, then reading or listening to this book will save you so much TIME, MONEY and ENERGY.
Highly recommended.

Decent audio to assist me.

I can’t be more satisfied with the complete content of this audio guide. It suits anyone who wants to be in the music industry. An aspiring musician here and how I wish fame and success can be easy to attain. However, with a decent audio to assist me, that’s more than enough!
