Publisher's summary

On a cold morning in late fall, a girl was found running down the street, naked and screaming. She had been missing for over a month.

It’s been five years since that day, and 18-year-old Taylor Cormier may have escaped her captor but never escaped the trauma. Jacob, the man who took her, was never caught. Her life could have been lots of things, but instead, it’s mace, house alarms, and secret work schedules. She remembers very little of her abduction; what she does remember is confusing and unreliable. The one thing she does know, she knows with absolute certainty: She will never be safe.

Despite this knowledge, she wants what all girls entering senior year want. To be included, to be liked, to be normal. So, when her old group of friends begin to talk to her again and the new charming boy in school shows interest, Taylor begins to hope that her senior year could be different.

That is until another girl goes missing, and Taylor’s life erupts into chaos once more. Through the course of the investigation, for the first time, Taylor feels hampered by the holes in her memory. With the help of her therapist, she begins to recover memories of her abduction, hoping to uncover new evidence that will help the police find the girl, find Jacob, or both.

Great thriller! Must read!

Okay so I found and listen to this book because of Merphy Napier and her YouTube channel. (Which is fantastic booktuber and you should check her out) The fact that she narrated the book makes it that much better she did a wonderful job!
The book itself if totally a 5 star! I mean I did know The Who done it parts before we got to the ending but the ending is SO GOOD no matter if you figure it out or not! I loved the Irish security guy (his name escapes me) and whenever part 2 comes out I hope there is more of him! Taylor is totally someone that I would think anyone could get attached to pretty quickly.
This is totally a must read book and I will be one of the 1st audible purchasers when the next one comes out!

Great read!

This ended up being a great story! Tropes that litter the thriller genre seemed to crop up at the beginning, but tropes are tropes for a reason, and good characters and plotting redeemed it! The author isn’t afraid to go to dark places and get graphic without being gratuitous.

The predictability was reserved for character reveals, not plot, and surprisingly once I reached those reveals it didn’t bother me! The plot did surprise me, as did the likability of our main characters. I’d definitely recommend.

My rating? Four bags of popcorn and a coke👏🏼
