This is a second chance romance. There's a bit of a mystery but you can see the conclusion a mile away. The romance could have ended about 1/3 of the way through the book and I was puzzled because there were 5 hours left to the book. Every time something bad happened the H fixed everything with money.

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I enjoyed this story but there was more sex than story. The story was good but I found myself skipping past the sex scenes because I wanted to know what happened next in the story. The mystery was good and the humor important. The narrator made the story. The man fell in love with the woman when they were young and was honored to get the chance to court and defend her. The action was also well written.

Yes, this book was worth the time I spent listening.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The story was definitely heavy on the drama. From teenage love, to quitting a job, to attempted murder. It moved so fast from issue to issue that it felt a bit overwhelming and somewhat unbelievable.

What three words best describe Logan McAllister’s voice?

Logan McAllister has a nice deep voice, always nice for romance and love stories. He also did a great job on the female narration.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I would go to the movie if it focused on more of the love story versus all the other drama happening around them.

This was a fantastic second-chance romance with a bit of suspense. Loved the characters and the romance. Very enjoyable audio book with great narration. I'm looking forward to book 2.

This was an exciting, sweet and sexy, Friends-to-Lovers romance. Caliana has always been the love of Logan's life. They were friends at the lake thru high school until she left for college. Now Logan has become a successful businessman, and he's excited when he discovers that, the one that got away, is back at her cabin. Caliana is unemployed, single and trying to figure out what to do next. When her sexy neighbor and friend, Logan, makes his move, she is more than happy to explore their fiery attraction. As they spend more time and get closer, someone is determined to break them apart. When Cali's life is threatened, Logan is determined to keep her safe and in his life forever.
Narrator, Logan McAllister, has a smooth deep voice that is so easy to listen to. He sets each scene perfectly and his character changes are distinct.
I really enjoyed this thrilling, engaging and super sexy romance.

I got to listen to the audiobook. While it took some time getting used to a male narrator it was pretty good! Keep in mind this is the authors debut novel and released almost 6 years ago. Everyone has to start somewhere!

Cali and Owen reconnect after 10 years apart. They were neighbors at their cabins. It's hot, steamy, and decently unpredictable. I enjoyed it!

Really cute second chance romance. Not too rushed, and when they connect, it’s hot and carnal. Owen being rich isn’t very original but the writing was very good. It’s not too hard to guess who’s behind the death attempts. To make it more difficult, the reason Cali was running could have been played up as a part of the mystery but it was only sidelined.

Logan McAllister has a wonderful voice. I love him in dual narrations but he was the only voice here. He has a pleasant enough female interpretation but his manly sound is difficult to get used to for the non-verbal female thoughts.

The talent behind the writing, the voice and the heat make this a satisfying listen.
