Story
Everyone has an opinion on racism. The vast majority of people would vehemently deny that they or those close to them are "racist," yet many of the most common understandings of racism are highly problematic. "If you mean no harm, then it can't be racist." Yes, it can. "There are anti-discrimination laws now, so racism no longer occurs." Incorrect. "Some of my best friends are Black, so I can't be racist." Not true. In this sharp, open-minded, and witty book, sociologist Jennifer Patrice Sims succinctly addresses these problematic perceptions of racism as fallacies.

Someone is stalking Audrey Young. And she has no idea why. Complicating matters is her landlord and new neighbor, Josiah Haven. She doesn’t usually go for the big, surly lumberjack type. But there’s something about that broody man. He intimidates her a little, but she kind of likes it. She could totally handle the mess that is her life, except the strange feeling of being watched is just the beginning. Next thing Audrey knows, she’s a target, and she doesn’t know who’s behind it or why. For Josiah Haven, none of that makes her his problem.

Fun stories to listen to!
As a kid, I was always fascinated by myths and legends, but keeping the different stories straight was a challenge. Listening to these tales again felt like sitting around a fire, hearing an elder pass down ancient wisdom. The stories are fun to listen to!

Captivating Tales for Curious Minds
I’m a dad who loves exploring ancient legends, so I grabbed this collection to share at home. Each story is brief enough for bedtime while still feeling exciting. The simple language kept everyone’s attention, and we ended up chatting about the different myths long after we finished reading. I appreciate how it introduces various cultures without being overwhelming. We’re definitely looking forward to discovering more tales together.

Fascinating
This audiobook sparked a lot of questions and even got my kid reading more about mythology on their own. I liked how it mixed Greek, Norse, and Egyptian myths so they could compare the different cultures. It was also nice for car rides or bedtime listening. Definitely a win for curious young minds!

My Kids Couldn’t Stop Listening
I played this during a road trip and my 9-year-old was hooked. The stories are exciting but easy to follow, and I actually learned a few things too. It sparked so many fun questions and got my kids curious about history and mythology in a way school never has. Great mix of adventure, learning, and imagination—all wrapped into one.

Road trip savior with lasting impact
Grabbed this audiobook for our 10-hour family road trip with my mythology-obsessed 9-year-old and skeptical 11-year-old. Both were utterly hooked! The narrator's energetic storytelling had them giggling at Loki's antics and gasping at Hercules' adventures.
My kids now play "mythology trivia" at dinner and have created their own hero stories inspired by the tales. Their school librarian even commented on their newfound interest in history books.
The perfect blend of entertainment and education that sparked genuine curiosity. It's worth every penny!

Wonderful for the imagination
The Greek myths are incredible to listen to at any age. I remember being taught the myths at Primary school, which fired my imagination and made me want to visit the country's ancient sites. The narration was engaging and there was a nice level of detail. It was very comprehensive and it is a lovely audiobook for parents and children to listen to and discuss together.

Fun Myths That Kept Us Listening
My daughter and I listened to this on a long road trip and it made the hours fly by. The narrator had a fun voice that kept things lively without being too silly. The stories were short enough to hold her attention and packed with cool facts about gods and heroes. She even started telling her friends about Egyptian monsters at school. I liked how it mixed learning with entertainment without feeling like a lesson. It made me remember why I loved these stories as a kid too.
