This is a very interesting eight-minute listen. The questions raised have been contemplated going back to 300 BC when Plato's opinion was that we, humans remain the same person as we were when we were born. Over the coming years, this would be debated vigorously by scholars, scientists, the clergy and the medical specialists, who have yet to come to a definitive answer. Studies of criminals, twins separated at birth, and those in mental institutions have led to amazing discoveries. A look at genetic make up has proven that DNA plays a large role in who we become. While the study of depravation and lack of human contact and other environmental factors also have proven to have a huge impact of infants, particularly during the first year of life. In short, both nature and nurture make a good case as to the overall good/harm on the development of a human being. The study of both continues, with more discoveries waiting to be tested and/or proven.
