Publisher's summary

When Charlie Porter meets Hazaar Alim her first year of university, she's instantly smitten. Hazaar has it all: beauty, talent, and brains. What she doesn't realize is that Hazaar's future has already been decided, and Charlie has no place in it.

Hazaar desperately wants to break with her traditions and stay with Charlie, but when forced to choose, she chooses her family over love. When she realizes the choice she made is the worst one possible, it's too late.

Years later, while working in Pakistan as a diplomat and negotiator, Charlie receives a phone call from a woman who says her British sister-in-law is to be killed for the family's honor and asks if someone can save her.

Charlie and Hazaar are on a collision course with destiny. If they make it out alive, can they believe in their love once again?

Nightingale

Laughter, tears , anger and sometimes frustration all in a wonderful tale of love and misguided religious zealotry. For Charlie and Hazar life couldn't have been more complicated. This is a wonderful story and should be listened to by all. The narrator captured each character fully and beautifully.

Excellent Voice Actor. A Must Listen

Wow. Nightingale in audio shows how the right voice can make a great book into something remarkable. Kudos to Ms Bramhall for this heartfelt story of love overcoming all. Educational and enlightening, the author shows us how cultural differences can be overcome with understanding and compassion.

Ms Naqvi should have won an award for her work on Nightingale. I was transported into the lives of each and every character in this novel. Her narration was spot on. Wonderful when a voice actor elevates the strength and power of a story.

I rarely reread or re-listen to books. Nightingale might become an annual read for me now.

Excellent audio!

I loved Nightingale by Andrea Bramhall. One of her best books. Excellent narration by Zehra Jane Naqvi. The subject matter is tough. No denying that. But the love story and look inside a different culture makes it well worth it. This stays on my re-listen list.

WOW

How you even come up with a story line like this is beyond me. A truly amazing story with an equally amazing narrator. Would love to see a sequel.

Excellent Listen!

I found myself delaying tasks so I could keep listening to this story. It was beautifully written and performed perfectly. I wish it were a series so I could look forward to the next book. Sad to have it end. Worth the listen and then some.

Lesbian International Incident..

Very well written. I listened to this after listening to Lost for Words, curious about the script the MC in that story was producing. If you haven't already, you should listen to that next.

Well written and performed.

One con - I was about to throw the phone when it looked like the story was about to pull a typical lesbian fight that plagues many lesbian fiction stories....

Amazing!

Would you listen to Nightingale again? Why?

Yes, the storyline was very well-constructed. The way the opposing timelines and settings built up to the apex of the story was brilliant. Really thrilling at many points.

What other book might you compare Nightingale to and why?

The Honor series by Radclyffe, because of the nature of the love affair and the constant pursuit despite danger of protecting said affair.

What about Zehra Jane Naqvi’s performance did you like?

She was absolutely brilliant. So glad that she was the narrator on this. The accents were flawless and she really knew where to put emphasis in order to inspire anticipation.

Who was the most memorable character of Nightingale and why?

Hazar, because of her honor. She was also brought to great life and light by the author through Charlie's eyes.

Any additional comments?

This has been one of my favorite romances in a long time. Can't wait to hear from Andrea Bramhall again. What a truly talented creator!
