Publisher's summary

This audiobook is narrated by actor Chase Sui Wonders, known for her work on Genera+ion, Bodies, Bodies, Bodies and the upcoming Apple TV original City On Fire

“This one’s a killer.” —Erika T. Wurth, author of White Horse

Liz Kerin’s Night’s Edge is a sun-drenched novel about the darkest secrets we hide and how monstrous we can be to the ones we love most.

Having a mom like Izzy meant Mia had to grow up fast. No extracurriculars, no inviting friends over, and definitely no dating. The most important rule: Tell no one of Izzy’s hunger—the kind only blood can satisfy.

But Mia is in her twenties now and longs for a life of her own. One where she doesn’t have to worry about anyone discovering their terrible secret, or breathing down her neck. When Mia meets rebellious musician Jade she dares to hope she’s found a way to leave her home—and her mom—behind.

It just might be Mia’s only chance of getting out alive.

Night’s Edge is a gruesome and surprisingly heartfelt page-turner.”—Alexis Henderson, author of House of Hunger

Critic reviews

“Fascinating. A powerful, thoughtful, and all-too-real take on vampires that will ring true for abuse survivors and have everyone else jumping at shadows.” —Delilah S. Dawson, New York Times bestselling author of The Violence

"Night's Edge is a 'vampire next door' story that feels achingly human, set in a world both strangely alien and frighteningly familiar. So realistic you’ll swear it happened to someone you know.” —Scott Thomas, author of Kill Creek

“A heartbreaking story…. It grabbed me from the first page and held me tight until the end, leaving me breathless and fighting tears.” —Damien Angelica Walters, author of The Dead Girls Club and Cry Your Way Home

Vampy, Queer, and Emotionally charged!

I rarely write reviews, I typically only write about books that are really amazing, or really awful. Let me tell you, I adored this book. The emotional complexity of the characters is incredible, I also adored how the writer put a lot of thought into this world’s vampirism. It’s got it’s own unique spin that many recent stories lack, and doesn’t fall too far into campy themes. It walks a tight line of being a unique and well written story without being too much.
I will say that at times I felt myself frustrated with the main characters lack of gusto, but it never felt out of character or unnecessary. If written poorly, Mia might have felt whiny, but instead she was a multi dimensional character that I truly connected to, and sympathized with. I would absolutely recommend this book!

Enthralling story and incredible narrator

Loved this take on the vampire genre, which cycles between then main character as a 10 year old during a viral lockdown & her as an adult navigating life & romance as a late bloomer. The author has an amazing ability to create dread! Best book I’ve encountered in a long while.

Mind Blown

Excellent character development, slow burn and intense story. The author has such a way with words. Narrator is spot on too.

Loved this and looking forward for the sequel!

Not only is the narrator one of my favorites I’ve heard and perfect for this book, the story itself is gripping. I can’t say much without giving away plot points, but I’m stoked the story will continue soon with the upcoming sequel!

Can't wait for book 2!

I enjoyed every minute of this book, except that the second half of it won't be available until next April.

Anyone who has been in an abusive relationship is going to relate to this, and I was constantly wishing Mia would turn her mother in to one of the centers. So many missed opportunities. So many red flags ignored. If you know, you know.

This is an excellent addition to the vampire genre, and I highly recommend it to everyone who has a soft spot for those lovely monsters.

Narration was good. I hope they have the same woman read the sequel.

Good writing and performance

I enjoyed this, the dialog felt authentic and the story was gritty and engaging. It was a little slow and underwhelming plot-wise but the strong character building and good writing help carry-through that. I don’t enjoy books that aren’t very long being chopped up as a “series” and didn’t realize this going in or I probably wouldn’t have listened as the story feels like it’s just getting started and the ending is not much of an ending. Make finishing your book then publishing it cool again.

A sad attempt at writing

Basically, the story is about a teenage lesbian that is torn between her Vampiri mother, and her relationship that was forbidden. It’s ridiculous and basically board me to tears unless you just want to hear a teenage girls diary about her flings.
