I have been in leadership for the last 22 years and I am amazed at how much we have had to modify the way we lead. I have never been one to have the I am the boss, you are the worker mentality but more and more, we have had to learn to be more flexible. As a leader, the demands of navigating through challenging times felt overwhelming. There were times I questioned my ability to lead my team through these storms and how would I come out on the other side. Learning to be resilient and get through the tough times is something that I really wanted to strengthen as there is a huge shift in my company right now and I know things are about to get wild.

As I worked through the book, I took notice that my team really does look to me for strength and inspiration. They know that if I'm cool and steady, then we can get through anything together. The book gives a 9 step framework to help cultivate personal and team resilience. I've also been learning that the art of building powerful networks and connections with my team, mentors and relationships, learning to leveraging their guidance and support could widen my perspective.
