Publisher's summary

In this exhilarating thriller from four million copy bestselling author Mark Edwards, Aidan’s spent years looking for his sister. Will he ever find her?

Two years ago, on a trip to Seattle to visit her brother Aidan, fifteen-year-old Scarlett vanished into thin air. After years of false leads and dead ends, Aidan has almost given up hope. But then a woman sees a girl running for her life across a forest clearing in Northern California. She is convinced the girl is the missing Scarlett. But could it really be her?

Heading south, Aidan finds a fire-ravaged town covered in missing-teenager posters. The locals seem afraid, the police won’t answer any questions and it looks like another dead end—until a chance meeting with returned local Lana gives Aidan his first clue. But as they piece together what happened, Lana and Aidan make deadly enemies. Enemies willing to do anything to silence them.

Only one thing matters now: finding Scarlett—even if it kills him.

Not his best work

A bit naive though somewhat entertaining, not the best work from this author though.

Another great read

I love Mark Edwards' style of writing. This was tame compared to his other books. Follow You Home, Because She Loves Me and the Magpie Trilogy are terrifying in a "this can happen" kind of way. Because people are cray-cray. And Mark Edwards writes cray-cray like he's been down that road. 😂😂

Another Great Mark Edwards Book

I've listened to quite a few of Edwards' novels. This one drew me in right from the start. I was totally drawn in by the characters and the narration was great! This was definitely worth the credit!

Great story

Aidan has never given up on finding his sister, even though she’s been missing for 2yrs. When an elderly lady contacts him and says ghat she saw Scarlett from a train, Aidan goes in search. However, not everyone wants him to search for answers and soon, along with Lana…who’s searching for her brother…the pair are running for their lives. Enjoyable story.

Crazy eco terrorists.

Interesting story that overall lived up to what I expected from Mark Edwards. Narration was good and easy to listen to. Hopefully there will be a follow up story.

I've read all of mark edwards books

This is not his best. It was okay but I had to listen on 1.5 speed bc it was so slow of a story line.

Interesting Theme

This was an interesting storyline that unfortunately I believe happens more than people know. Intense with a lot of drama! Great narration.

My Favorite Mark Edwards Book!

Impeccable narration, truly suspenseful story, great storyline. What more can you ask for? I really liked the characters in this book. They were brought to life through Mark’s prose & Will’s lovely English accent. I just love narration by Englishmen & women, of course. Anyway, never a spoiler from me, you just have to read this one for yourself. I totally enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

Great action packed thriller that moves you from one interesting scenario to another

Great production, excellent narration, interesting subject, unexpected twists, and lots of mystery that leaves you listening for more. If this gets a sequel I will definitely listen to it! Mark Edwards makes writing seem so easy, he so effectively illustrates an exciting investigation from both sides of the sleuths and the schemers. I always feel so inspired to write a novel when I listen to his work but just because he makes it seem easy I am certain that it is not! I don’t know how he plots these out so well and you feel extremely immersed in the scenes. Extremely talented.
