About this listen

I needed you. I needed you to tell me I was beautiful. I needed you to tell me it was all going to be okay. I needed you to be with me. To love me. To protect me. I needed you - but the sad thing is you didn't need me.

You didn't want me. You never cared about me. And when you gave up on me, I gave up on me, too. I lost myself because I found all my self-worth in you. And when you left me, I left myself, too.

Now I'm left wondering, could I come back for me?

Heart wrenching

Everyone can relate in one way or another. It’s a beautifully written story of Dimah’s struggle to save herself. The narrator was amazing she made me feel so much I was one the verge of tears several times

Raising my rating

This wasn’t the story I had expected but it was well perceived. With a touch of romance thrown into a situation that is all too real for many high school students, Gabriela crafted a somewhat alternative to “13 Reason Why” by Jay Asher. There was also a hint of “Mean Girls” by Micol Ostow tossed around in there. At least that is what I made of it.

While the events that unfolded where realistic, they where handle in a manner that was at best softly put. With just enough information to gather what happened without going into details of the events that plague the story. Which I found to be rather refreshing. It left just enough to make you hope for the best but expect the worst.

The metamorphosis of Dimah “Em” Emerson, was beautifully crafted. The way she changed throughout the nightmare she lived. The growth she had with the gentle nudge of Aron was endearing. Aron added the perfect umph to the story. Not being overbearing while also not standing on the sideline.

This is a heartbreaking story, that will leave you with questions of the roles of society from the jocks, the mean girls, school officials and friends. It hits on some petty hard subjects so brace yourself for this. Because while the outcome is uplifting it could have easily turned the other way.

This is my second time experiencing Not The End, but my first time listening to in audio format. And what can say it brought the story more alive for me. In fact I’ll be going back and raising my rating from 4 stars to 5, because I noticed so much more then I hadn’t before.

It’s a remarkable pieces.

Inspirational

This is such an amazing book. I loved it. While it hurt my heart for the characters pain it spoke to me. Bullying is a huge part of our lives now. I wish it wasn’t but it is. It needs to stop.
In this amazing short story we see our heroine learn to overcome the hardships and grow. It’s so amazing and inspirational. Highly recommend

Dimah and Aaaron!

When she was attending high school Dimah had always felt like she didn’t fit in and was on the outside looking in. After she endured a traumatic experience she would give anything to go back to the way things were instead of being attacked and ridiculed every day. After a while she just accepted that nothing would change until Aron came into her life when she needed someone the most.

Aron is the star quarterback who even though he is dealing with his own issues is the one person who truly sees Dimah and the way he supports and looks out for her is inspiring as every school needs someone like him.

This is an emotional story about standing up for yourself and what is right. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and thought the narrator was a perfect choice for Dimah and her voice pulled you into the story even more.

Not the End is a powerful and moving novella about a girl finding herself again. Bouncing between past and present the story slowly unfolds to reveal what really happened While not graphic you know what the situation was and feel for Dima. I wanted to know more about Aron and the hard time he dealt with. I also wanted more Dina and Aron. This is an amazing story and inspirational to those who are dealing with Dina’s situation. It’s also a great reminder that you don’t know everything that happens and you shouldn’t judge as if you do.

Great Story!

This was my first Gianna Gabriela's book. This is the first book in the Not Alone Series, an amazing YA bullying romance. Dimah's story is heartbreaking. She is a lovely young woman. The storyline is well written, and the back and forth, past to present, is well done. Aron is a handsome young man, caring and protective, and I can't wait to listen to his story in the second book in the Series, Not the Same. Amanda Stribling did a great job with the narration, as always. She has a beautiful voice, with a great range of voices.

good story

This was a great short story about standing up for yourself! At times I struggled with following listening to the story a little because of the flashbacks. I am not use to listening to stories and not reading them so I think that is why I struggled a little. But even with that I really liked it.
