Publisher's summary

Spending a month filming a reality TV show with your ex is no picnic.

Especially when you’ve signed a contract stating that the two of you will not, under any circumstances, have romantic relations while filming.

Leanne Simmons and Callum Davidson never had an easy relationship. From enemies to lovers and back to enemies, they’ve been on again/off again for years. Things come to a head when Callum gets into an altercation with a rival for Leanne’s affections. Their management decide enough is enough and give them both an ultimatum: sign the contract or leave the show.

Unwilling to give up their livelihoods, Callum and Leanne sign on the dotted line. However, like always, they can’t resist making a bet. Callum thinks it’s only a matter of time before they break the agreement, while Leanne is determined to see it through.

Can she resist him for an entire month without losing her sanity? And what if this is the one bet that finally breaks them both?

Off the Air is a contemporary romance and Book One in L.H. Cosway’s brand new Running on Air series. Each book focuses on a different couple and can be read as a stand-alone.

Narrators were AWESOME!

First my review of the story itself:

Oh buddy. You're in for an emotional ride with this one!

Hearts on Air was in my top 3 for favorite books in the entire Hearts series, so I was SO excited to read this one. The glimpse we got of Leanne and Callum in that book left me wanting so much more. I knew there was so much more to their story and I was so right.

Callum was amazing. In HoA he comes across as this self-serving, narcissistic jerk and he was, but in this book we got to see him fully grow into the compassionate, caring side we all hoped he had. This man has DEPTH and such deep emotional scars that you can absolutely understand why he acted the way he did. I loved seeing how much he cared about Leanne and how much he struggled with everything they went through. More often than not we don't get to see a man's perspective on their situation so I was really happy that Ms. Cosway included that part. I thought it was handled really well and, despite never having gone through that, I genuinely felt their grief and their pain.

Leanne was such a mixed bag for me. I'll be honest, I didn't like her in the middle. I liked her a bit in the beginning because I had always liked her previously, but by the middle towards the end I. COULD. NOT. STAND. HER. She treated Callum terribly and I was so mad at her because he was honestly trying. Her negativity was guiding her emotions, though, and I kept having to remind myself that this woman went through earth-shattering trauma. By the end, I completely understood why she acted that way. She grew so much more than even Callum did because she finally accepted and acknowledged her part in everything that transpired between the two of them. It made me like her so much more by the end of the book.

As usual, this book was well written and the entire story line was well thought out. You get a wide range of emotions from this one from anger to grief to happiness and back again. I am so excited that this is a series because I can see how each character's story is going to come into play and I can't wait to see how their stories completely unfold. I have a feeling we're in for an epic ride.

Now the narrators:

Wow! Talk about some amazing narration. I absolutely loved both of these narrators. They embodied Callum and Leanne perfectly. I loved their accents for everyone, too. I love when the narrators actually have the accents the characters are supposed to have because they have the natural dialect to make them seem more real. I sincerely hope these two will narrate the rest of the series!

Fantastic audiobook!

As with the Air Kiss audio-book, I think the author selected the perfect narrators for this book. Stacey Holmes and Will M. Watt really helped submerge me in the story as L.H. Cosway intended when she wrote it. I had previously read the ebook version of Off the Air, and could not begin to imagine what the characters sounded like. Instead of thinking like an American in London, I was able to get a better feel for the life of a native in London.

The story itself is wonderful, a second-chance sports romance - but with Parkour athletes instead of athletes from typical, organized sport teams. The author nicely developed the characters, building on what we already learned in Air Kiss, and providing multi-dimensional characters with family relationships, and complex motivations. In addition to Leann, who I loved from the start, and Callum, who I grew to love as we got to know him better, there was an interesting, and complex cast of supporting characters. There was excitement and drama throughout the book, derived from both the sport and the relationships among the characters. The author's descriptions of the venue's visited was amazing, as I found myself doing some research to actually "see" the sights.

This is a standalone novel, with a happy ending for those of you wondering. However, there are links to the author's Hearts series where we first met Trevor, as well as the rest of the Running on Air series yet to come. There are so many questions I want to see answered in this series: what is in James' future? Will Leeann set up Paul with a certain someone? What is Neil hiding? What happens with Michaela's crush? How are Trevor and Reya doing? Will Isaac get a love interest?

I highly recommend you listen to this audio-book. I think you'll enjoy it, and then you will also want to know the answers to these questions.

Sweeps you off your feet

I’m so emotional right now. Never have I ever cried happy tears over a book, but I did during a special scene in this. It might have something to do with this being an Audiobook. I really don’t want to spoil anything, just want to assure you that you will take an emotional roller coaster ride with this book. You will want to scream, laugh, cry and embrace the main characters. I’m totally invested. I loved both narrators and I can’t wait for the next one. Thanks for bringing the characters to life this way.

Simply Amazing

This book is amazing, I absolutely adore it. Leann and Callum are introduced in the Hearts series. After agreeing to be on a reality show together they can't deny the sparks that fly between them, seeing each other in secret. A tragic accident pulls them apart and plunges them both into grief. The book time jumps a little showing a scene from the present, then going back in time in the next chapter to fill in information. The push and pull, the grief, the angst, the anger, was all beautifully written, my heart hurt for both Leann and Callum. There were several times when I just wanted Leann to let Cal love her like he wanted to, like he was offering to, instead of pushing him away. It wasn't all grief and angst, the banter between characters was witty and funny and had me laughing several times. I love that the premise of the book, a reality show about parkour, is unique and different. I listened to the audio and absolutely love both narrators. Will M. Watt and Stacy Holmes did such a fantastic job and really brought the characters and story to life. This is a fantastically stunning book, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different.

I was given an audio book in exchange for a review.

Wonderful story wonderfully read

L.H. Cosway has an amazing way with words. Her storytelling is always evocative and her characters multidimensional. I get lost in her books and I'm always sad when they end.

I was nervous that the actors would be distracting as sometimes happens when a voice doesn't match my idea of what the characters or narrator should sound like, especially when the book is written in the first person. My apprehension was unfounded. The actors were wonderful. It felt like the characters were speaking to me, telling their stories, the emotions were clear and sounded genuine in the reading.

This audio book gets all the stars!

The epitome of romance

I honestly have no idea why I don't read this author often, because she blows my mind every time. I am obsessed with stories that transport me somewhere I have never been. This author never fails. Not only that, Cal was everything I want in a book boy. He loved Leanne unconditionally, without apology and with his whole heart. I could listen to this book over and over. This story was everything I want and need in romance.

My first from author... not my last

Listen, I don’t know where this author and series have been hiding. I swear, I feel like I’m on a treasure hunt to find authors that aren’t Colleen Hoover or Lucy Score. I really really really enjoyed this one and I’m on my way to the next one. When I saw Will Watt was doing a British accent (his other accents…..ehhh) I knew this would be good but I had no clue how much I would enjoy the female narrator too. She switched between accents so freaking well and her accents weren’t harsh. I usually have to skip to 2x speed during a long book bc I’m just impatient but between the authors writing and the narrators delivery…. Ahhh…. This story was great at 1.3. The emotions were all there. The book starts off with a bit of a trigger warning in the beginning….. I somehow missed that when screening the book…. Miscarriage…. That was highly emotional. The narrators carried the listener so well through that section. The book did get a little monotonous for a chapter or two as the characters grew but I still enjoyed the storyline with the supporting characters. On other sites, this book isn't rated highly and many complain about the main female character and her immaturity. Well, I agree, she is immature but I think anyone in their 20's juggling a new job and relationship is immature. I felt pretty connected to her decisions though and I still enjoyed the storyline. Reflecting back, the sexy scenes don’t stand out too much but honestly the emotions felt from the other parts of the book are in the forefront. I’ll listen to the next in the series and I’m sure I’ll come back soon.
