About this listen

'Reason and imagination and all mental chatter died down... I forgot my name, my humanness, my thingness, all that could be called me or mine. Past and future dropped away... Lighter than air, clearer than glass, altogether released from myself, I was nowhere around.' Thus Douglas Harding describes his first experience of headlessness, or no self. First published in 1961, this is a classic work which conveys the experience that mystics of all times have tried to put words to.

Exceptional

I thought that this was brilliant and truly original. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and plan to re read it again today or tomorrow. I read the first two chapters a while ago, but wasn’t ready for it at that time.

Everything Is Right Here

This! This! A simple way to see...really see what we are, accompanied with a delightfully written, detailed map to deepen and clarify that seeing. I return again and again to this book. Each time brings more clarity, more joy, and more peace. The mind wants to complicate and continue the search, but It's all right here.

Opened me up to being open

I absolutely love this book! The performance by Richard Lang, and content by the late & great Douglas Harding will forever be with me. This book lays out a truly direct path to freedom that is so simple anyone can understand. 12/10

Potentially Life Changing

The combination of the prophetic seer of humankind’s actual situation without the eons of social conditioning to see own self through the looking glass of other rathe than the Self combined by the reading by his chief disciple Richard Lang is a potent combination. I look forward to revisiting this spiritual classic time and time again.

Life Changing!

The perspective offered within the work are like none I have ever experienced. They taught me more about myself than any text I have come to know before. Langs narrative performance is undeniably perfection. Coupled with Lang's brilliant delivery, Harding brings to light spiritual extensions of knowledge and perspective based theory that will change the way you view yourself forever-and I can't be more excited for you! I can't wait for you to experience that wonder that is "The Headless Way."

Deeply well written journey into the hearts

Harding not only explain his journey to talk to friends about mysterios gems and how lowly rejected they may get even from the brightest. He also shows what may happen if you trust yourself and take your own steps into the deepest place of the heart. He tells it from the view of the ones that are often happy around us, the view from children and animals.

Should be required reading

... especially in a culture in which so many people are interested in mindfulness, but end up only reinforcing the very dualistic conception of consciousness that they are ostensibly trying to overcome. So much modern woo is self-aggrandizing. This explains first principles of nondualism in elegant simplicity.
