About this listen

Jo Slater has it all. The queen of Manhattan society, she has dealt successfully with a tricky period in which she lost her husband, her fortune, and her reputation. But she bounced back, and now, newly single in the greatest city in the world, there is not a cloud in the sky.

Then Russell Cole, an old friend just married to a much younger woman, goes missing while yachting in Barbados. His wife, Carla, tries to befriend Jo, but Jo is suspicious. Carla's past is murky, and now, with her billionaire husband's money at her disposal, she seems set on conquering the highest level of New York's social scene. Suddenly, those who oppose her start dying off, and Jo decides to take matters into her own hands.

A fun story comes alive!

Although the social stratosphere of NYC is completely foreign territory to me, I enjoyed this book enormously, principally thanks to Barbara Rosenblat’s wonderfully spirited narration.

A wonderful Read!

Great story telling. Read the first book, so you have the background story, although you do not have to have read the first book to enjoy this one.

Loved it.

Kept my interest the entire way. Narrator added to the mystery. I rarely make it through an entire audio book but was ready to listen to this one any chance I got.

The narratoir says "supposably"!

I'm only on ch 12. So far this book is kind of slow and boring. I'm not sure if I'll finish or not, but I doubt it. The main character is supposed to be cultured amd educated, and the narrator is saying "supposably"?! That is not a word.
