Publisher's summary

Luka Krachec immigrates to the United States to find his cousin dead and his cousin's wife hospitalized after a terrible accident. He meets Peter Montgomery at the funeral. The American seems nice and captures Luka's attention when he offers to help him with his English.

Peter has spent most of his life believing he shot his father at age six, and his family uses his regret and overwhelming guilt to keep him under their proverbial thumbs. Peter does his best to make up for what he did by helping others, and agreeing to help Luka with his English yields something amazing when they hit it off.

When Peter opens up to Luka about what happened when he was a child, Luka senses some holes in the story and suspects Peter needs some help, so he approaches the head of the psychology department at the college where he works. Neither expects to open a long-barricaded door to secrets, denial, and family manipulation.

The Power of Truth...

As a fan of Andrew Grey's writing, I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I've not heard one like it before and as with most of Grey's stories there is a happily ever after. But the journey to getting there is always a lesson to learn. Truth is a wondrous thing and can things into motion that brings forth growth and learning! Luca and Peter's come together with a past, each learning the truth and dealing with it and in that course find love with one another. A sweet story that causes the pitter patter of this hopeless romantic's heart to swoon with glee...a definite recommendation...As far as the narrator, Michael Ferraiuolo, I am not sure if I have heard him before, but he was excellent and brought life to the characters within the story. I'm looking forward to hearing more from him...

A warm if predictable love story

Perhaps the publishers summary gave too much away in this warm love story with subplots which were somewhat predictable. The characters are easy to attach to, and cultural aspects are handled sensitively.

Not bad

The story - like most of AGs stories - is not bad, but just not amazing either. There is no insane drama or highs and lows but just a steady story of two men falling in love and some issues that needs to be resolved. I do not know why AGs stories rarely moves me, but they dont and this is no exeption. If u are a fan, u will probably like the story, but the most i can say for it is that it isnt bad.

Good story but kind of boring.....

the concept for this story is good but the execution is a bit on the boring side. I liked the love story and the resolve the characters have near the end but, the story just dragged along for me in between and I could barely finish.
I like the narrator, he did fine in this story, when things got emotional he really really made me feel like I was listening to a real person grieving.
I am sad to say I cannot recommend this book even though it does have a interesting premise, it was bogged down with way too much exposition and mediocre dialogue.
