Publisher's summary

A failed blind date, a sexy ex-hockey player, a single mom, and a case of mistaken identity pave the way for this sweet, fun, and sexy stand-alone second chance romance.

One night to remember.

One night for fun, passion, and a chance to remember what it’s like to be a woman.

I’m not looking for love.

There’s a man in my life who loves me with all his heart. He has beautiful blue eyes, is three feet tall, and calls me mommy.

He’s my whole world, and I’m his. Fate stole his daddy way too soon.

What would happen if I allowed fate another chance, just for one night?

***

One night to help a friend.

Why did I agree to this?

Blind dates are disasters. If I weren't helping the friend of a friend, I wouldn't go.

I’m not looking for romance, love, or even a one-night stand.

Besides, I’m no longer the hockey star known for his "pep" on the ice and in the sack. I have a new life and a new career - a new passion. I’m not looking for more.

When the blind date is a bust, could fate change everything?

One night doesn’t end with a kiss - it begins with one.

From New York Times best seller Aleatha Romig, be ready to laugh, cry, and fall head over heels as you embark on the lighter side of Aleatha in this sweet and sexy stand-alone romance One Night.

Oh Malcolm!

I loved Malcolm and Mandy’s romance because it’s tender, super sexy, filled with emotion, and it made me laugh. Mandy’s 5 year old son Jase is her world and I enjoyed her family and friends who are her support system as she rediscovers the woman in her after many years of being a widow. Malcolm is the sweetest, dirty talker in bed. He used to be a player in his younger years but he’s grown up and he’s the quintessential family man. I listened to the audiobook and I really enjoyed the narration performances of Brian Pallino and Samantha Prescott.

great storyline

Oh my Mandy & Malcom will steal your heart and keep your attention on their story. Add in little Jace along with Sally and the rest and you have a great story. Don't forget Cruella DeVil and the need to save puppies. I just loved that reference. enjoy this book I did.

Cute but predictable

It had personal for a story with a different twist. was cute and entertaining but nothing to write home about. Too many coincidences (blind dates both got stood up, their names were similar but different... seriously? then her son's teacher. ) sure they might have missed it the first night (rare but possible), but to go weeks w/o putting it together?

I get being private, but after "dating" someone for months to you don't know the basic things about one another, yet she says they could have intelligent talks for hours.

let's get a little more realistic.

Story was great but.....

The female narrator sounded like she was about 65 years old, Poor choice for a 25 year old young lady! It was really hard to listen to he female parts. had to basically tune her out to finish the story. If you’re a person with a sensitivity with narrators, I would NOT recommend even though the storyline was pretty good. In my opinion the narration can either make or break the story.

Good but had Potential for More

It’s been years since 25 year old Amanda has been out on a date as hers of late are more ‘playdates’ with her son. After her husband is killed while serving in Afghanistan right after Jason is born she hasn’t had the desire to date and instead has been focused on raising her 5 year old son. She agrees to go on a blind date with her friends Sally and Brian and their friend Pep. When Sally and Brian can’t make it she is thinking about just calling it a night when Malcolm, the charming man next to her asks her to sit down and have a drink with him. She agrees and decides that their chemistry is so great she is going to spend one night with him - one where she is not a mom and is a bit more young and carefree.

I was eager to listen to this story when I read the description - I liked the story, but I would have really liked to have seen more interaction with Jason - especially between Malcolm and Jason. One of the things that really bothered me about the story was that Amanda waited several months before she would even tell Malcolm Jason’s name and even that was kind of a slip up. I completely agree with waiting to introduce them, but he works with kids and is an ex NFL star - it got to be way overdone and redundant and started to take away from the story. Even several months in and she refused to get more than surface level - I needed more growth from her as a character. She didn’t need to tell him her life story right away but more stages would have been nice.

Brian Pallino and Samantha Prescott do a good job with the narration. It’s a quick and easy listen. It has a lot of steam! I would have personally tweaked some things about it (less redundancy, less sex/more story - it had some substance but the potential was there for more). I liked the relationship between Sally and Amanda and I loved the relationship between Sally and her family members! Her Mom was especially great!!

Sexy ex-hockey player falls for the single mom

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Malcolm and Amanda meet in a bar as they are both supposed to be there for a blind date with each other, but they don't know it. One Night turns into so much more. Amanda is trying to remember what it's like to be a woman instead of a mom, full time employee and a widow. Malcolm has just moved to town and started his second career as a teacher. I loved watching these two fall for each other.

I was a little distracted by the woman narrator. She always sounded groan-like. It was fine for the sexy times, but got a little annoying during the rest of the story. There was also a fair amount of static throughout the story which I found distracting. The story was good though and I will definitely look into the other books.

How sweet

I really enjoyed this adorable, low angst romance. I listened to the audiobook and both Brian Pallino and Samantha Prescott played the characters so well. Mandy and Malcolm were such a cute couple and although there were formulaic areas, I still smiled a lot throughout the book. Mandy and Malcolm were supposed to be set up by their friends but an issue caused their friends to have to cancel. Both Mandy and Malcolm were there but didn't know they were the ones that they were being set up with but the chemistry was there. Can one night turn into more?

I am looking forward to listening to the other books in the series. I just bought all of them!
