About this listen

Dree Clark thought tall, ripped, thoroughly hot Augustine was her knight in shining armor, until she discovered he was her priest.

Where’s the last place in the world evil drug dealers from Phoenix would look for a girl who owes them money?
Nepal.

Dree is on the run. Her dead ex-boyfriend owes a whole lot of money to some drug dealers, and if they can’t get the cash from Dree, they’ll take it out of her hide. When Catholic Charities offers Dree a mission into the far reaches of Nepal because they need a nurse, Dree jumps at the opportunity and prays she’ll be safe.

Until she meets the Catholic priest who’ll be leading the mission.

It’s Augustine, the sexy guy from Paris.

But he has a new name, Father Maxence Grimaldi.

Well, she’d told him to lie to her.

She just never thought he’d lie about being a priest.

Now, she’s journeying far out into the wilds with the hot priest.

And oh God, they’re riding motorcycles, and he’s wearing black leather with a priest’s collar.

And there aren’t enough darned tents to go around.

She’s not going to be able to keep her hands off him.

Exciting!

Max and Dree! Love this story. Part 2 of Max’s story (part 4 of a larger story) really need to read Max’s part one first. Well written. Looking forward to the next part of the story. I usually don’t like cliffhanger books. This story is worth waiting for!

The drama continues with Maxence and Dree

Order picks up where Rogue leaves off and there’s plenty of questions and tension between Max and Dree. I loved reading their story and then listening to it and seeing how it is unfolding... each searching for their purpose and trying to figure out if their futures can include each other. Loving this series... anxiously awaiting the next book in the series...

Deacon Father Maxence and Augustine clash

This book is the second book in Maxence's story and it picks up right where Rogue left off. I recommend reading Rogue before this book.

Maxence needs to get away from his temptation and away from his dynastic problems, so he joins a mission trip in Nepal to build micro-NICU buildings in difficult to reach villages along the mountainsides. His trip is planned with 4 other men - certainly wouldn't want to tempt Deacon Father Maxence with a woman tagging along! However, shortly after he arrives in Nepal, he learns that the medical personnel that was going to join the mission had to back out. Here comes Dree to save the day!

Dree and Augustine had a wild affair in Paris just before the Nepal mission. Dree is looking to escape her ex-boyfriend's issues and the cops by joining a Catholic mission in a faraway place. And of course, she ends up on the same mission trip as Augustine, except now he's going by the name Deacon Father Maxence. How could she have had an affair with an almost priest?!

They both vow to not be tempted by each other and to focus on the mission. As the days pass, it seems that they are constantly drawn together. Maxence, Dree, and their fellow campers on the mission visit many villages along the way. The poverty and plight of these villagers tugs their heartstrings. Maxence and Dree discover that they have a lot in common including their need to help those with less than they have. They both discover that their relationship is much more than the lust they had in Paris.

Shane East and Lucy Rivers both did an amazing job narrating the story and bringing these characters to life. The audiobook definitely puts the story in another dimension. I highly recommend listening to this and all of Blair Babylon's books. The book ends on a cliffhanger, as usual, and I can't wait to listen to the next volume, Prince.

What a rollercoaster of emotions!!

What a rollercoaster of emotions, and a whirlwind of life. Max and Dree gosh I love this couple. Dree knows what Max is what she doesn't understand is why he is hesitating now? She knows her heart will be shattered but maybe Max feels the same? Come along while these two take us from village to village helping others and finding themselves perhaps? Oh my god I loved this book!!! And having two narrators made it come alive, it's like the couple was right there talking in front of me. These narrators did a superb job of bringing this story to life.

Sexy and emotional

When Dree finds herself in a new country, courtesy of Catholic Charities, she's ready to rush all-in to make a difference in people's lives, especially the tiny babies who might have little to no chance of survival if she doesn't push herself to the max. But Max is the biggest surprise when she reaches her destination and discovers she has left her heart behind only to find out Maxence Grimaldi just might be the most surprising piece of her destination. Still hunted by the drug dealers she left behind in the U.S., she's headed on an adventure that may prove to be more than she or Max could have ever predicted.

I bought this in Audible and on Kindle so I could read it with my eyes while listening, something I haven't done before but truly enjoyed. I feel like I've been waiting for Maxences story since we first meet him in this author's earlier books. There's always been something sweet, sexy, and wicked about him that has made me want to know him and find out who he truly is. Well, we definitely see that in this story. And the cliffhanger that leads into the next book has me salivating. I can see some sinful thrills ahead, and I can hardly wait.

Loved it!

Max's story just keeps getting more and more intriguing! I loved seeing the characters under different circumstances and how each one shows a different side to them. I still find Dree a little annoying, less than the previous book, her being so naive and oblivious at times just gets to me especially since her character is a NP. Apart from that I love reading this series and can't wait to see what happens in the next installment. Both the narrators do a wonderful job and I especially love listening to their different accents.

Sin with Max

This is a great continuation of Max and Dree’s story. The charity trip in Nepal is poignant and detailed, and we learn more about the service side of Max’s character and how driven Dree is to make the world a little better one patient at a time. There is still the heat you expect in Blair’s stories, with a bite of danger, but it is the characters that drive this portion of the saga. Well worth the time and the credit!

Brilliant book

This book is set around the background of Max and how he became the man he is. This doesn’t mean there no twists and turns and drama between Max and Dree. Looking forward to the next book. I have read and listen to this book and highly recommend this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of the book and also audio which the narrator really brought the audio book alive

What a rollercoaster of a read!

I have waited for Maxence's story and have yet to be disappointed in what I have gotten of his story so far! In this edition of Max and Dree's story we meet up with the pair as they do mission work in impoverished villages in Nepal after Dree learns that Maxence is an ordained Deacon and has the desire to be a Jesuit priest.

This portion of their story was thought provoking and at times emotional as the pair and their team work to help others. With some depressing and destitute places that they have encountered, Max and Dree continue to fight the attraction that they have to each other making it painful to watch as they fight their feelings. In the end, the truth comes out about Max's true identity and the they have have a new challenges to face.

Max and Dree continue to be strong characters with scorching chemistry. They are both compassionate to others as they strive to help others to the best of their abilities in the world. I was hooked to their story and i can't wait to see what happens for the pair next.

The narration by Shane East and Lucy Rivers was well performed. The pair did a great job continuing to bring this story to life making it an enjoyable listening experience.

Who is Maxence?

Lucy Rivers and Shane East once again offer a wonderful performance as they capture the personalities of Dree and Maxence.

Deacon Father Maxence plans to use Nepal to reassert himself into his faith and his vocation. Dree, a woman on the run, travels to Nepal and comes face to face with her one night stand turned four night stand, who is also the lead of their missionary team seeking to improved impoverished areas of the country.

The novel builds tension at a devilishly slow pace, directly opposite from the first novel of the series, Rogue. Instead of sexual tension, Blair delivers socioeconomic struggles of the poorer areas of Nepal, and more importantly, the stark differences in mentality between the wealthy and impoverished.

Readers experienced a new element of Blair's as she uses the Catholic faith as both a strength and a flaw for Maxence. While we get another small snippet of Maxence's anxieties and fears, I believe we've only scraped the surface of Maxence's struggles.

This novel is a great transition from Rogue to Prince. One that whets our appetites for more as we continue to unravel Maxence.
