Destroying her. Destroying her world.

Five years later....

Jo finds herself still stuck in the past, unable to find closure with Christopher's death.

When she moves to Austin, Texas, with her son, Junior, she's finally given the fresh start she's been desperately seeking.

What she doesn't know is that the fresh start comes in the form of her sexy neighbor, Drew Greyson.

Their friendship starts off rocky, but eventually, a spark between them ignites. It isn't long before that spark turns explosive, and she finds herself falling for him.

Drew wants to be her everything, her forever, but will Jo's pain from losing Christopher stop her from following her heart?

A different kind of second chance

Although I know that this book penalty falls into the enemies to lovers troupe, it's still a type of second chance romance in my opinion. Jo is grieving the lose of her first love and has given up on falling again. In confess Drew, the hot neighbor who starts a spark. That's why I say second chance. I loved this audio. I just wish that it was duel narration.

FULL OF FEELS.. AND NEARLY PERFECT

Relocation from Dallas to Austin with her six year old son wasn't easy for Jo but, after losing her job as an Events Planner six months previously, she had no choice.. however it was very painful leaving her friends, family and memories behind. Memories of Christopher - her best friend who came rushing to her rescue in the playground when they were just five years old.. a best friend that would go on to be the love of her life, her first, her one and only, the father of her child and her beloved partner years later. But tragedy struck their world while Army Doctor Christopher was deployed in Afghanistan and, for five years, his loss and the heartache has been a constant in Jo's life. Jo didn't yet know it, but the new future she and her son were heading towards, was going to include a sexy new love, sugar, cupcakes and HEA's but was it going to last.. because history has a way of repeating itself?

After the sad and touching first few chapters, I settled down and really enjoyed the instant denied chemistry, friendship and growing affection between Jo and Drew as she began to open her heart once again.. to possibilities, to letting go, to second chances and to love. Jo and Drew's relationship was tentative at first, always tender, very touching and hot. Jo was a strong character outwardly battling for a better future but inwardly broken and she was just getting through each day hiding her pain.. until Drew. An angry Jo had confronted her new neighbor whose music was way too loud and the self-assured sexy man slowly weaved his way into her life.. and heart bringing out a sassy sarcastic sexy and very different Jo. Drew was a super hero fan.. and he was a super hero himself with his sweet, sarcastic, thoughtful, kind, sexy, not so humble and healing ways - with Jo he never pushed or demanded.. he understood. He's a bakery owner, a talented musician with tattoos and a mean bike, he's a dirty talker, a skilled lover, a droolworthy sighworthy hero.. and he's a man who knows he's met his forever. Good supporting characters too. A very well written emotional love story told from the heroine's POV and it could've been a five star listen.. but, for me, the narrator's voice took a wee bit of time getting used to and, to be honest, I don't think I ever truly did - however her characters were easily identifiable and different.. I think it was the tone or pitch of her voice.. or perhaps it was just me.

Worth a credit? Yes - it was packed full of feels about loss, letting go, moving on and grabbing hold with both hands the priceless gift of forever love, of second chances.. to love and to live again.

Sweet, funny, and a little emotional

I was so scared I wasn't going to like this book because romances about grief usually end up turning me off the more I read. But that was not the case here. Our Forever was sweet, funny, and sexy. Really loved both the main characters and her son. It was great seeing her fall for her neighbor who didn't hold back his attraction and growing feelings for Jo and as much she initially felt guilty about moving on she accepted the way Drew made her feel. I also really enjoyed the narrator although it took me a while to get used to her voice. Loved how she voiced Jo's son.
