Publisher's summary

When it comes to solving cold cases, nothing is ever cut and dried…. Quilter Beatrice Coleman is enjoying the sleepy peace of a tranquil afternoon…until it’s interrupted by her friend, Miss Sissy. The elderly lady is making wild claims about narrowly escaping an intruder. And intruders are unusual in tiny Dappled Hills. Miss Sissy isn’t the most reliable of witnesses, and her claims are swiftly discounted - until her mysterious intruder is found dead. Beatrice won’t cut corners as she unravels the threads of both a murder and a puzzling disappearance from decades ago.

Narrative leaves much to be desired

Darlene Allen’s narration does not give a unique voice to each character thus making it difficult to determine who is speaking. This robs to listener of a comfort easy to enjoy audio book.
Story line is good, developing rather slowly.
As much as I might want to follow this series, ms. Allen’s vocal is turning
Me away, sad to say.

cute

First book i have read in this series but i was able to follow along without any issues. The story was good and i loved the characters. I would definitely listen/read more in this series. I received this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

The narrator did a great job as well.

Good

Cute story, narration was good, enjoyed the plot, Beatrice as the investigator, when an intruder is found dead in this small town.
Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

ok

I like the Myrtle Clover series better It's more fun with more interesting characters. This book seems drier. it's not as entertaining and I'm offended by the portrayal of the elderly woman, Miss Sissy, in this book. Why can't she speak in a complete sentence?

Could Not Make It Through

I tried to make it to the end, but could not.
I can’t believe this is the sixth book in a series. I assume each book in a series will be better than the last; however, I do not know how this series got to the sixth book much less the twelfth I find it has.
The writing is very plodding. It gets nowhere fast. The narration makes it worse. The voices all sound the same. Unfortunately, I was out the door in a hurry before I began my commute and was unable to listen to the sample before I purchased the book. Do not waste your time nor money.
