Incredible Book!

I am currently taking New Testament with Douglas Campbell and this is one of the texts for the course. It has been surprisingly enjoyable, both factual and theological. The reading is smooth and I would recommend for any interested in not only Paul’s life, but the early years of Christianity!

Excellent read!

Douglas Campbell is known as a world-class Pauline scholar, but this book is anything but dry and academic. He writes for a general audience and describes Paul’s life, work, and theology in a compelling way. Highly recommended for any Christian, New Testament student, or anyone seeking to learn about one of the most influential writers in human history.

Invigorating and intoxicating

Campbell paints the picture of Paul clearly and with exactness. However, his precision is matched by his invigorating story-telling, intoxicating insights, and masterful grasp of the material. I cannot recommend this text enough.

A little hard to follow

This book has a lot of interesting content, however since it is not really chronological, it is a little hard to follow. The narrator's voice is extremely deep which can get a little tedious and evoke sleepiness. I suggest reading other books about Paul in addition to this one.

Find another book!

You are presented the author’s political view point in the introduction and it goes down hill from there. Seriously, find another book to use your Audible credit on that has less of an agenda and is better researched.
