Publisher's summary

A steamy YA romance inspired by Gaston Leroux's classic The Phantom of the Opera.

Seventeen-year-old Stephanie Armand doesn't believe in ghosts or spirits. Despite her six-year-old sister insisting a masked figure is hiding in her closet, and the rumors at school, Stephanie isn't convinced her father's latest renovation project - a crumbling Victorian mansion - houses the soul of a monster. So when the very charming (and paranormal-obsessed) Lucas Cheney takes an interest in both Stephanie and her notorious home, Moldavia, the supernatural and romantic activity escalates to an all-time high. But then there's Erik - the dashing British boy, seemingly from another era, who's taken up residence in Stephanie's nightly dreams. A boy who may have something to do with the man in the mask and the strange occurrences taking place at Moldavia.

Critic reviews

“With decadent prose, charming characters, and immersive world-building, Kelly Creagh deftly dances between a cursed past and a half-light present, transporting the reader through spaces and time on the wings of broken chords and bright melodies. At turns a haunting horror and a star-crossed romance, Phantom Heart emerges — as gothically stunning as a rose unfurling blood-red petals in winter’s stark white gloom — to reveal the beauty masked behind the macabre, and the rhapsody hidden beneath the silence.” (A.G. Howard, number one New York Times best-selling author of the Splintered series)

“Riveting and mysterious...a Phantom of the Opera-style love story that kept me reading!” (Katie McGarry, author of Pushing the Limits)

“This modern take on a classic tale of obsession and redemption will captivate fans of gothic, and the story’s humor and romantic tension will keep them turning pages to the end.” (Sonia Gensler, award-winning author of Ghostlight)

Chilling

Phantom Heart by Kelly Creagh is a wonderful Phantom of the Opera retelling. I love the multiple POVs throughout. The narrators added to the marvelous story telling. I had chills and was even startled a couple of times. I was completely immersed in this world. I cannot recommend this enough!

Loved this so much

Such an incredible story and wonderful rendition of the Phantom of the Opera. How I loved the characters of Stephanie and Erik. The supporting cast was of course also wonderful and the storyline was intriguing on so many levels. So much more than just a beautiful love story… Although it was certainly that.

I can’t say how much I love the writing of Kelly Creagh. I’ve waited for several years for her to release another book and this one in no way disappointed. I believe her next writing might be a series and I just can’t wait.

I should also know that I thoroughly enjoyed the audible version of this and, in particular, the multiple narrators.

An exciting re-imagining of the classic!

Written by one of my favorite authors, Kelly Creagh, and narrated by a fantastic trio of Emily Ellet, Tom Berkeley, and Michael Crouch, Phantom Heart offers suspense, romance and humor in a standout supernatural story.
Even with a unique setting and plotline, this modern-day Phantom stays true to the heart of the Gaston Leroux novel.
Teens and adults should enjoy the ride!

Best re imagining of the phantom of the opera

I love this is so much! I’m really really sad it is over. The best way I recommend this book is the auto book. All three narrators are perfectly casted for their characters they represent The only real problem I have with this book is the “cursed” is not that well flushed out. But beside that the book is all most completely prefect!

Wow

I LOVE this book. I’ve listened to it several times and it resonates with me each time. I love Eric. He’s just so sweet. The narrators did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. I of course loved Eric’s voice the best. Can’t get any better than a British accent! lol! He even did a great job with the different masks.

This book is amazing!

I wasn't certain how YA this would be but was more than pleasantly surprised to find it enthralling. As the story went on, I grew to dislike Logan. A lot. I would have been so mad if they had ended up together.

I really hoped the author would find a way to pair up Eric and Stephanie. And she did that wonderfully.

Now for an audio version of the Nevermore Series!!!!!

Not For Me ..

When a book has this gorgeous cover and a premise this good, how can it go wrong ?, well, read at your own risk
So the story follows a girl named Stephanie, she is 16 years old and since her mother died she's been the mother of her sister Charlie and her father, they are used to moving around because her father's job is to redecorate old houses, this time they move to a strange house that has a lot of legends around it, mainly it's been haunted by a ghost .. a phantom or as he like to call himself "Zedok", at first Stephanie doesn't believe those rumors until she actually meets him .. and she recruits a team of paranormal investigators (aka. a group of high school kids) to uncover the secret of this phantom
the beginning of the book was really interesting and it gave chills every time I imagine how is Zedok watching Stephanie and her sister, but as the story progressed it became a jumble humble of made up paranormal stuff that barely has anything to do with the story, it's like the author is trying to hard to redeem Erik that she made every impossible scenario to make him " good " I really couldn't buy it .. this was really problematic to me .. and that ending .. really ??, no, seriously really ????
nope this was definitely not my cup of tea
the narrators were nice, but the girl's performance felt like she was sleepy or something it was weird
