Publisher's summary

One child lost, one child found - what's the connection?

DS Jan Pearce is still searching for her missing son. When she finds a little girl, Elise, alone in a pram in a busy town center, she must unravel a mystery that takes her to the edge of her emotions. Then, another child, Dara Price, goes missing.

Lisa Connelly, Elise's mother, has been forced into a life of prostitution and has been leaving her little girl alone. Her gangland boss is holding her prisoner but she wants her little girl back. Jan finds herself balancing her search for her son with finding Dara. To make matters worse, her right hand man, Mike Waring, is on another case, so she and her temporary partner, profiler Damien Booth, must solve the puzzle and find Lisa before time runs out for Dara.

Playlist for a Paper Angel is the second in the DS Jan Pearce series of novels and is the sequel to Random Acts of Unkindness. Set in Saddleworth in the northwest part of England, the backdrop of Playlist for a Paper Angel is the sinister moorland and the vibrant city of Manchester.

A Great Listen

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, and have voluntarily left this review. As Operation Hurricane finishes up, Jan tries to put her feelings and emotions about her son disappearance in perspective. Then Jan and her new partner get a kidnapping case that spirals into something horrible. Very well written characters and suspenseful plot will keep you listening and waiting to see what will happen next in the story of the darker side of society. I'm really hoping that there will be more to this series.

Mystery

Children are going missing. But no one realizes so are their mothers. Police officer Jan searches out the cause and gets to the bottom of the case along with a profiler. Laura Brydon, the narrator did a good job, however, I sometimes had a hard time understanding her English accent.Still the book is written well and was enjoyable.

This was an excellent book! There were so many things going on,but it came together nicely.Laura Brydon was a fantastic narrator.A young mother leaves her baby on a street corner. She is found and put in police protection. Why would anyone leave a kid alone like that? The characters are very human.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

Thrilling and Unnerving

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
I haven't read the prior two books in this series, but I plan to after finishing this book. This is an thrilling and unnerving crime fiction novel, that was like a roller coaster ride I never wanted to get off. With curve balls at every turn, the author drew me into the story and characters and didn't let go. I can't wait to read the other books in this series!
