Publisher's summary

The Nightingale-Conant Corporation is pleased to present: Poetry and Notes to Myself: My Ups and Downs with A Course in Miracles by best-selling authors Dr. Gerald G. Jampolsky and Dr. Diane Cirincione.

Jerry and Diane are two long-time favorite authors of our beloved Nightingale-Conant customers - having recorded such favorites as Love Is Letting Go of Fear, Goodbye to Guilt, Creating Positive Relationships, The Quiet Mind, and many more. In this special recording, we travel with Jerry and Diane into the most intimate of their internal journeys. We move with Jerry from militant atheism through an awakening by direct experience with the Divine. Detailed accounts of his spiritual transformation are chronicled through his never-before-seen poetry and notes to himself from the early years when the unpublished manuscript of A Course in Miracles was placed in his hands and, in that moment of Divine Grace, his life changed forever.

Later in the program, we’ll move with Diane as she reflects on how the lessons from the course has impacted her life over the past 30 years, and shares new distinctions that she has discovered in her twilight years.

Our program is organized into two sections.

The first section features the entire audio recording of the book Poetry and Notes to Myself, written by Dr. Jerry Jampolsky, and is warmly presented by both Dr. Jerry Jampolsky and yours truly - Jerry and Diane’s long-time friend and confidant - Stu Lucero.

A treasure trove of wisdom and insight, these diary entries and poems give us a precious gift from this pioneer in spiritual evolution as he, once again, helps guide us forward via the turf of his own soul.

Personal challenges with money, control, deception, depression, desire, and so much more are laid bare in the section, “My Prison of Darkness.” “Into the Light” finds another way of looking at the world, and “Love Is the Answer” brings truth and light and love and inspiration. He also includes a section of his most important, deeply personal “Spiritual Reminders”, which in one or two sentences, provide the essence of a truth he has learned.

The second section of the program features a special interview between Dr. Gerald Jampolsky, Dr. Diane Cirincione, and Dan Strutzel - the former Vice President of Publishing at Nightingale-Conant, and current President of Inspire Productions.

This recently recorded interview will dig more deeply into the lessons of A Course In Miracles, expand upon many of the ideas revealed in the book, and reveal some never-before-heard ideas and concepts from Jerry and Diane.

We were honored to have both Jerry and Diane with us in studio at this late stage of their lives (Jerry is now in his 90s and Diane in her 70s) for this rare, enlightening, and touching interview. This is truly a special treat that you won’t want to miss.

...

I believe this could be an interesting listen, I enjoyed the forward(chapter 1), and the interview(chapters 8,9). But the rest of it...I have never heard someone read so badly. The gentleman who reads 6 chapters of this book, including poetry, was just terrible. I suffered through the second chapter and had to call it quits.
Diane Cirincione PhD was the savior for this audio book, she at least seemed to show a passion for the subject...I wouldn't have listened to nearly as much if it wasn't for her.

I gave up.

Horrible performance. I mean awful and I'm wondering who would have published this audio as it so horrible. Like there's a period after every. single.word. I really wanted to hear this, but it's impossible to follow. Just terrible.

Many excellent nuggets about Love and Forgiveness

To address the other reviews that mention audio issues: There are several pieces of audio "types" in this book. The intro, the reading of his actual book, some spliced-in clips that are actually Dr. Gerald speaking with his own voice, and an interview-style conversation at the end. Depending on the quality of your headphones, some of the pieces may sound smoother than others. Regarding the narration of the actual book, if you change the speed, you may find it easier to listen to. I listened to the whole audiobook on 1.5 times the speed. You may note, after hearing the whole thing, that the narrator's style mimics how Dr. Gerald speaks; rolls with starts and stops in similar fashion. Please also note that at the time of the recording, Dr. Gerald is over 90 years old. I had started to read the Kindle, then listened to the audio (which includes the interview), and I have just ordered the real physical book, so I can re-read and make notes. Many beautiful nuggets about love and forgiveness that I plan to share with others who are on a similar spiritual path.
