Publisher's summary

A tangled, noxious web....

Alastair Stone has just had a bombshell dropped on him about Aldwyn’s latest plans—but that particular problem will have to take a back seat to a more pressing one.

Verity has disappeared.

She never returned home following a weekend visit with her half-siblings in central California, and no one has any idea where she is.

Fearing an accident or other mundane mishap, Stone and Jason soon discover to their horror that something far worse is going on. Verity is out there somewhere, and she’s deliberately hiding herself from everyone she cares about.

When they return to her half-siblings’ home town to investigate what might have led her to flee, they slowly begin to uncover a treacherous web of deceit, cursed magic, and old grudges that go back to before she was born.

A web with a vengeful, hate-filled spider pulling its strings from the most unexpected possible place.

To return Verity safely home and end the curse, Stone must seek help from the last person he would ever want to ask, and put his very sanity at risk to vanquish the spider.

And even all that might not be enough.

Prepare to lose yourself in this number one Amazon best-selling urban fantasy series listeners are calling “unstoppable” and “a major winner”. Once you enter the world of Alastair Stone, you won’t want to leave.

Note to listeners: While Poisoned Vines is a complete story, your listening experience will be significantly enhanced if you first listen to the novella An Unexpected Truth. Poisoned Vines refers heavily to events in the novella.

loved it!

i love that Alistair will do whatever it takes to save someone he loves. actually, he’ll do that to save most anyone! but this time, it’s V, and none of them would ever Think of letting it go.
i liked getting to see more of Miles and Elena, getting to know them better. i was admittedly suspicious of them at first, but things never are what they seem in Alistair’s world!
brilliant!! 😁

Another excellent storytelling

I enjoy how the author finds a way to seamlessly bring in past characters. I especially enjoy how the narrator can remember everybody’s. Licea throughout the series of books. Not all narrators do that. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Honestly don’t know why I still buy these

I’m so tired of Stone bragging about how smart he is while he’s so slow on the uptake. The author tries to make sure he’s sleep deprived or nursing a concussion, but really it takes him too long to catch onto things telegraphed to us chapters earlier. And Jason is way too hot headed and doesn’t think things through unless Stone is the one doing something dangerous.

Criticisms aside, I keep buying these, so Rl King must be doing something right…
