Publisher's summary

Emerson Carter

Guys claim three minutes is a long time, so imagine what it means to be seven minutes older than your identical twin. We may look exactly the same—even down to our cupid’s bow lips—but our personalities couldn’t be more different. She’s foot loose and fancy free while I’m the responsible one. I’ve always been okay with that, too, but recently I’m feeling stifled by the constant pressure to be perfect. Date the perfect guy. Have the perfect job. Live in the perfect apartment. Perfection has a heavy cost. Am I willing to keep paying it?

Darren “D-Man” James

I met my soulmate when I was six years old and she was four. Emerson Carter had the cutest red hair in those Pippi Longstocking braids and always wore matching outfits with her twin sister, Evelyn. We grew up together, the three amigos. I sat in the friendzone and watched and waited. I sidelined myself as she dated my billet-brother Nick Atterton. I even lived with the couple for a few years until Nick was traded to Miami.

Witnessing the unimaginable strike our close friend brings us closer together. But will we be able to overcome that little bit of history… the one that had everyone thinking Emerson is simply biding her time, waiting for Nick to settle in down south? Will I have to watch her walk away again?

Will I be able to let her?

Dropped Puck Series is a 6 book hockey romance series following the Chicago Sharks as they fight through a season of ups and downs. A collection of interconnected stand-alones, each book can be listened to on their own, but I do recommend following the order in which the books are published as the characters do make follow up appearances in the subsequent stories.

So many feels

Loved the dynamic between Em and D-Man (okay, it’s Darren, but I’m a puck bunny at heart) from the very beginning. I felt so much in this hockey romance; happiness, sadness, fear and devastation.

Soulmates! ❤️

This was my first book by this author and I loved it!  This was a best friends to lovers romance with a little angst before that gets to happen.  Emy dates Nick for way too long before they both decide to end it and move on. Emy and Darren always wanted to be together and are truly soulmates but they did have some things to work through first.  I loved all of the characters in this book as well as the romance between Emy and Darren.  I did wish that the epilogue went back to Emy and Darren for a little while before the hockey talk at the end.  Narration by Alex Raby was great!

Childhood friends to lovers

This is my first book from this author. Although I did not listen to book one, I still enjoyed the story. Great book about childhood friends who eventually became more. Great characters! Good narration from Alex Raby. I received this audiobook for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review.

loved it!!

I've read the book before, so I knew the story was awesome. I've just been waiting to get my ears on the audio version. This was very well done.

Emy and Nick have a history, but not as much as Emy and D. I'm happy they get the HEA.

Best friends to lovers.

I loved Darren, although he was too patient with Nick and Em. His friendships are so very special to him. Em's twin has moved away, so she doesn't have much of a role in this book. Full of love and friendship. Clever banter. Deep thoughts. Angst. Smexy times. Wonderful characters. Ups and downs.
I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. The narrator, Alex Raby, brings feels to this story. Even her male voices are good. 5 stars for her as well.

Great follow up

I enjoyed the first of this series and I liked getting to know Emerson and Darren more. It's a fun if complicated and steamy friends to lovers. I do wish we had a better resolution at the end I felt like there we missed out on that with Darren and Em but also with Nick, Maybe there will be some of that in the next one I'm not sure but I felt let down with that otherwise I enjoyed this story and the characters. Narration was done well.

Love it!

This book starts when the main female characters are 4 years old and the boys next door are 6. Emerson (Emie) and her twin sister, Evie, can't possibly be more different. Emie is the "perfect one," concerned with grades and Evie is the "party girl" who naturally gets everyone's attention and it's those differences that cause a rare argument. They live next door to Darren who at his young age, showed excellence on the ice. Hockey has always been an essential part of life. When another hockey player, Nick, comes to live with Darren, they become a foursome of best friends. Emie and Darren were immediately drawn to each other, but it was Nick who stepped up and stepped in to date her. For seven years they were together, until Em realized that this whole time it had been a mistake. She never once felt the spark that she feels just being around Darren. As Nick walked away, it was finally time for Darren to take his shot. Their connection had never died, but Em had a problem with perception. She didn't want anyone to know that she and Darren were together because it was too soon for her since her break-up. This was a stretch for me, especially because of the deep division it forced. Em was pretty annoying until Darren gave her a choice....I can't be around you when you can't tell me you're over Nick. She needs to make a decision. Ultimately, she made the right decision and the future's looking good. The ending is a little rushed. I would like to see more of how they're doing, well down the road. The narration is very well done by Alex Raby. Her dynamic, well-paced voice brings the characters to life with attitude and personality.
