Brad Wells' Confidently Embrace and Master Your New Role as a Dad is a must-read for any expectant father. This comprehensive guide offers a wealth of practical advice and emotional support, guiding new dads through the exciting yet daunting journey of parenthood.

One of the book's greatest strengths is its ability to address a wide range of topics, from the physical and emotional changes of pregnancy to the practicalities of newborn care. Wells provides clear and concise explanations, making complex concepts easy to understand. He also offers a plethora of useful tips and tricks, such as how to swaddle a baby, feed a newborn, and create a self-care routine.

The author's emphasis on the importance of partnership and support is particularly noteworthy. He stresses the need for fathers to be actively involved in every aspect of pregnancy and childbirth, from attending prenatal appointments to helping their partners recover after delivery. This approach not only strengthens the bond between partners but also ensures that the father feels connected and empowered in his new role.

In addition to its practical advice, the book also offers emotional support and encouragement. Wells acknowledges the challenges and fears that new dads may experience, providing reassurance and guidance on how to overcome them. He also emphasizes the importance of self-care and encourages fathers to take time for themselves to maintain their own well-being.

One of the most valuable aspects of the book is its ability to provide a sense of community and connection. New Dad? You need this audiobook!

I am in my late twenties and reaching the stage in my life where I am thinking about potentially having children, this book is great because it covers every stage of pregnancy from a Dad's perspective, including the stage where you think you might want a baby and how to identify if you just have baby fever. I enjoyed the personal anecdotes, they were very relatable and made me feel understood as a potential future Father. I also liked the interactive elements in the book like the self-quiz, baby checklist, and birthing plan. It's also great how this audiobook comes with the PDF ebook too so you can follow along or switch to reading if you prefer that! At times the narrator lacks a bit of vocal variety in his tonality, but overall it doesn't take away from the experience too much, just good to be aware of before you dive in. Otherwise this book is fantastic and I highly recommend it for new Dads!

Wonderful exploration of all things fertility, conception, pregnancy, and beyond

I love this audiobook! My husband and I are currently trying to conceive our second baby, and I’ve been researching everything fertility and pregnancy extensively. Since my husband works a lot, I certainly don’t expect him to put the same amount of time into research, but I love that I now have a condensed resource I can share with him so that he can understand some of my world. I decided to give this audiobook a listen myself before recommending it to him, and I was thoroughly impressed! I particularly loved the first few chapters of the book, as I thought they did an excellent job highlighting infertility and explaining the intricacies of conception. I’ve honestly never heard any of this from a male perspective, so I found this especially refreshing. The rest of the book is just as detailed as it walks through what to expect during the pregnancy itself and the fatherhood journey afterwards. The author does a great job of ensuring the book doesn’t feel dry, sharing a mix of personal stories and relevant information. I would absolutely recommend this to any fathers-to-be or new dads hoping to support their partners a little more.

A Fantastic Guide For Any New Dad

I think this is a fantastic book for any man that’s soon going to be a dad. Most men I know are quite clueless then it comes to their wife’s first pregnancy and they just don’t know what to expect.

This is where this book totally hits the mark. Brad does a great job breaking down each week of the pregnancy. The week-by-week guide, where he compares the baby’s size to fruits like lemons and apples, is a neat way to make things more relatable.

I also liked hearing about the experiences of other new dads who’ve been through the same thing. Plus, the section on taking care of yourself as a dad was a nice surprise. It reminds you that it’s okay to find a little time for yourself, too.

If you’re feeling anxious about becoming a dad, this book will definitely help calm your nerves and get you ready for what’s ahead. It’s a fantastic guide to prepare you for the wild ride of fatherhood. It’s a definite recommend from me.

A valuable resource for expectant parents

This audiobook is a commendable resource for parents-to-be who want to understand pregnancy from a practical perspective. It offers a balanced mix of advice, from medical knowledge to emotional support, tailored to parents-to-be, before and after the birth of your child-to-be. The narrative is clear and engaging, making it an accessible and informative guide that supports parental involvement in a typically mother-centred process. Overall, it is a positive addition to the family library that respects the listener's intelligence and emotional journey.’

helpful information for first time dad

It's never easy becoming a parent, not to say be a good one. There are lots of things to learn and to do for the first time. Especially that if you don't do it right the first time, you might not even get the chance to compensate, because some of these things are once in a lifetime. So this book would be very handy in those circumstances. It helps first time dads to get prepared both mentally and physically, as well as preparing all the things needed for the new born. And that's also preparation for moms too. The more a dad can do, the better the mom would feel as well.
