About this listen
One week. Five contestants. One prince. A devastating decision.
Before, she avoided elimination. Now, she must win.
Chosen as one of the final five in the bride search, Ada has one last chance to find the golden lamp and save her family.
Yet with Cyrus no longer her partner-in-crime, but her target, her plans unravel, tearing her between duty and desire. Now she has one week to pass three increasingly difficult tests fit for a queen.
As the competition takes a perilous bent, secrets are uncovered, demolishing her world as she knows it. Caught between impossible choices, the fates of all she loves depend on her decisions. But she fears that no matter what she does, she'd lose everything and change Cahraman forever.

Story
Everyone dreams of marrying a prince - except for me. I am nothing more than a pawn in my adoptive mother's diabolical plot against the seven kingdoms. I was the chosen tool, her sharpened blade that would cut the deepest into the heart of the kingdom of Baist. But like all deadly weapons, my wedding is two-edged sword that could cost me my soul. For I am Rosalie, one of the adopted daughters of Lady Eville, and it is my duty to enter into a loveless and hate-filled marriage with the narcissistic Crown Prince of Baist.

Story
If there’s one thing Rosemarie, an aspiring enchantress with budding magical powers, has learned throughout her studies, it's that magic must only be used for good. But when an egocentric prince breaks her sister’s heart, Rosemarie’s only focus is revenge, and what better way to enact it than with a well-chosen curse? A simple incantation is all it takes to transform the arrogant prince's appearance to match the state of his heart. But something goes wrong, causing the spell to affect not only the prince but its caster as well.

Story
Princess Elisianna wasn't gifted at birth. No, she was cursed. While her body may be weak and easy to bruise, what she did have was a strong intelligent mind. But a strong mind isn't easily seen, especially with a nickname like "Fragile Princess." Elise isn't sure she'll ever break her curse, for who could see past her weak frail body to who she truly is? Her curse, after all, can only be broken if someone falls in love with her strength and who would find her strong?

The fae snatch humans as playthings to torment. The Primrose steals them back. Vowing that no other family would endure the same fear and pain she felt when her older sister was snatched by the fae, Brigid puts on an empty-headed façade while she rescues humans in the shadowy guise of the Primrose, hero to humans, bane to the fae. Her only regret is that she can’t tell the truth to Munch, the young man in the human realm who she’s trying very hard not to fall in love with.

Story
Katarina Ashowan was not made for courtly life. Sure, her father is the famous house witch of Daxaria so she was raised among majestic castles, proper manners, and royal expectations. But Kat is also a mutated witch whose power aligns predominantly with fire. She’s more comfortable riding horses or learning to fight than she is making polite conversation and wearing fancy dresses. Which is why her upcoming assignment—serving her best friend, Alina, the soon-to-be crowned Troivackian queen—is anything but ideal.

Just hours after humans are born, the gods take what little power we have. In return, they protect our borders from the vicious, merciless fae. The humans who manage to keep their power are known as the corrupt. And they are burned. When my forbidden power is discovered, I’m forced to flee my tiny village and the life I adore. To survive, I make a desperate bargain with the mercenary who abandoned me at my weakest moment. Our deal is simple: I’ll help him and his mysterious friends sneak into the city, and he’ll help me learn to wield the strange, dark power I’ve always kept hidden.

Take a breath!
The retelling of Aladdin is a good one, but I nearly gave up due to the narrator. I don’t know why she has to squeeze out so many words before taking a breath. It felt strained and many times I found myself wanting to take a deep breath for the narrator.

Even better than the first one!
This series keep getting better as the story thickens and the world building and character development becomes more vivid and complex. Can't recommend both author and narrator enough. I'm waiting with bated breath for the rest of the series to become available on Audible!

Fun and easy to listen to
This series is great! It’s fast moving, has realistic and loveably flawed characters, and is sweet and charming. The novels remind me of the selection series, with a fantasy twist. They’re light hearted and romantic, but have some pizazz. I love fairytale retelling, and this was a fun Aladdin inspired tale. Ms. America aspects with a treasure hunt. I actually liked book two better than book one, which never happens because it’s often easy to get bored, but Ms. Tempest kept this book so fun and fast moving! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
