Two teenagers are catapulted back in time to alter history and save the medieval kingdom of Wales...

Fun and interesting exploration of “what if”

Fun and interesting exploration of “what if” a small, key battle had gone differently in History? Sarah Woodbury ties together modern day with a time period and country most of us never think about, but one battle with very few people— an ambush, really—could have changed that forever for us all.
I’ve shared this book with half a dozen others who, like me, have grabbed up the sequel as well.

Fun!

Twist and turns all though this story! The narrator was fantastic with the character's voices. I've listened to this book many times over.

Imagination expanded

The continuing story of "what if..." is intriguing and captured my attention throughout the book. Character development moves along briskly and the jump between modern day and 13th century Wales is handled well and is consistent with the series.
I couldn't help rooting for the main characters, groaning when they run into difficulties, and cheering when events go their way. I will definitely continue to listen to this series!!

I'm so hooked I'm on book 4. Which could be book 8 if I had just read each one and moved on . But I have read each to get all the information straight then listen to the audio to enjoy the characters .. Love it!!

Great historical time travel novel

Would you consider the audio edition of Prince of Time to be better than the print version?

I loved them both.

What did you like best about this story?

I love when they meet Bronwyn in the present time and she falls for a knight in armor. I love the romance and the history.

What does Laurel Schroeder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I hear how the Welsh is pronounced and she makes it exciting and brings it to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. I have the hardest time stopping after I arrive at my destination. I bought head phones so I can listen when I walk and garden and do housework. I can't listen while falling asleep - or I won't sleep.

Any additional comments?

Everyone should listen to this series.

And the adventure continues...

Would you consider the audio edition of Prince of Time to be better than the print version?

I'd consider them both equal in quality. My personal preference is of course always reading, but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story just as well. Comparing audio to print is really only about personal preference. Some prefer to read, some prefer to listen, and then there are those who like to do both - reading when they can or listening when reading is not an option (such as driving).

What other book might you compare Prince of Time to and why?

As far as action, I'd say it compares easily to the vivid descriptions of Melanie Rawn's older books - in particular Dragon Prince. It's perhaps one of my all time favorite books, and Ms. Woodbury has a way of involving you in the battles so you feel as if you're in the middle of it. As far as the time jumping though, it is very unique. I have yet to find another to compare to it. That makes it a wonderful overall story.

Which scene was your favorite?

David's singing like a loon or David in the midst of a concussion talking about Lily. Both made me laugh a lot. You're reminded in both scenes just how much of a kid he still is.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There weren't really any extremely sad moments in this one like in the previous one, but David with his aunt - that one choked me up just a little. It was a beautifully written scene.

Any additional comments?

This makes the 3rd book I've listened too, and I cannot wait for the next in the series. I'm as addicted to listening to them as I am to reading them. Excellent series! As with the previous two, Ms. Schroeder does amazingly well with the voices and the narration. She keeps it so interesting that you barely register that you're at the end of the book until it's all over. I love it.

Hold on to your seat...

Would you consider the audio edition of Prince of Time to be better than the print version?

No, it was an easier way to enjoy a beloved story or a wonderful way for a new "reader" to find this awesome series...

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the idea of time travel and being able to stop their father's death. Yes, it altered history, but their being in the past already changed the future...

Have you listened to any of Laurel Schroeder’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I feel like I'm there with them...

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When they realize they are staying... It's hard to say why but the pivotal point for them seems to be that single moment forever...
