About this listen
All you have to do is say yes . . . The heart-warming, funny new audiobook from the bestselling Jill Mansell
One minute Lou is happily employed, with a perfect flat. The next, her home and job have gone. Suddenly she has to start over.
The last thing Lou wants is to move to a tiny Cotswolds village. She certainly doesn't intend to work for curmudgeonly eighty-year-old Edgar Allsopp. But Edgar is about to make her the kind of promise nobody could ignore. In return, she secretly vows to help him fall in love with life again.
Foxwell is also home to Remy, whose charm and charisma are proving hard to ignore. But Lou hasn't recovered from the last time she fell for a charmer. She needs a distraction - and luckily one's about to turn up.
Secrets never stay hidden for long in Foxwell, nor are promises always kept. And no one could guess what lies ahead...

Story
Sasha has had it. She cannot bring herself to respond to another inane, “urgent” email or participate in the corporate employee joyfulness program. She hasn’t seen her friends in months. Sex? Seems like a lot of effort. Even cooking dinner takes far too much planning. Sasha has hit a wall. Armed with good intentions to drink kale smoothies, try yoga, and find peace, she heads to the seaside resort she loved as a child. But it’s the off season, the hotel is in a dilapidated shambles, and she has to share the beach with the only other occupant: a grumpy guy named Finn.

For Sam Lovell, organising the summer festival in her hometown is one of the highlights of her year. It’s not always smooth sailing, but she loves to see Porthmellow’s harbour packed with happy visitors and being on the committee has provided a much-needed distraction from the drama in her family life (and the distinct lack of it in her love life). The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow. My meet cute (well, not so meet cute) is slightly different. I was trolling a wealthy neighborhood in Beverly Hills, searching for someone to take me as their bride, you know, to make my arch nemesis jealous who consequently just fired me.

Nice Story ; Excellent Narration
It took several chapters before I became hooked. But then it was fun read without violence, gratuitous sex, or over used foul language. A rarity in modern novels, I find. I will gladly choose books written by Jill Mansell and/or read by Katherine Press in the future.

Loved this book
Enjoyed listening to this book Jill has an amazing way of developing characters and by the end they become your friends. I only wish she would put epilogues in her books so we could enjoy a year or two years later to see where the characters are in their relationships.

The Mean Old Man
As she writes Ms Mansell seems to get a tighter focus even as she maintains a plenitude of plots and characters. All the stories seem fantastic without becoming contrived. It’s not high demand reading but it’s not dumb. The narrator might have pronounced one word wrong, I can’t remember.
Edgar the curmudgeon may have been one of my favorite characters in all of her books. I was walking around laughing out loud.
Google Captain Oates before you start and if you don’t already know who he is.
