About this listen

Lorimar Pack, Book 1. War is a constant threat on Dell Preston's horizon. As beta of the Lorimar pack, her job is to maintain the peace on the new border between Faerie and Earth at all costs. Even if that means playing nice with her ex, Isaac, the fae who savaged her wolf's soul, and Enzo Garza, the flirty witch who ought to be focused on building up their magical defenses instead of tearing down the walls around Dell's heart.

Butler, Tennessee, is a pinprick on the map with a diverse population of supernaturals. It's also chockful of humans who are unaware of the magical rift bruising the sky or the otherworldly insurgents raining down into their zip code.

A local fae's disappearance catches Dell's attention, but she dismisses it as an isolated event. Until it happens again. Unable to ignore the strange happenings in her town, she begins an investigation that uncovers so much more than a simple rash of kidnappings.

Now Dell finds herself at the sharp end of a pointed ultimatum. Find the missing and return them to their families or get ready for prime time. Botch this job, and forget coming soon. The war will become tomorrow's featured attraction instead.

My truth

Ok Brittany’s acting skills are brilliant! Her ability to preform each character to the T is wonderful. She is able to separate each character as well male and female alike. I listened to a lot of her reads and will contribute too.

The writer’s ability to creat suck work is wonderful! I love her work! I look forward to listing to the rest of her story and to start new ones of her work as well. There is a perfect amount of all mixed in to her writing thrill drama romance etc.

The story. I love them son character by far and how much she has undergone and still is kicking strong. And let’s just say the mess she tried getting out of to save her pack only to have it threatened shortly after yicks. Little miss queen bd is a real... well... B! And the ex don’t get me started talk about typical stupid man! (Face palm)

Well hot damn

This was definitely a fast paced story with loads of surprises and a spectacular hook. Now I need to hurry to the next one to learn more about Del and her pack life. She’s an amazing and relatable heroin that I enjoy listening to!

Loved it. I loved how she keeped everyone in line while staying fair to everyone else regardless if human or not. The narrator was a lot better on this one.

performance

I loved the story but the change in actresses from the previous book was completely distracting. It wasn't until the last two chapters that I could finally hear and not try to mentally correct the main characters voice, mannerisms, dialect and drawl.

Whiplash from Character Voice Changes

I’ve been binging on this author as background for a huge project. I noticed the change in audio performer and it made sense for the change in main character emphasis… Except it felt nothing like any of the previous books in the series. So much of a change, in fact, that it might as well have been a different series all together.
The main character of Del has obviously done some growing but she is unrecognizable from the first half of the series.
Gone is the wonderful southern accent and the delivery of the dialogue of all the characters is much heavier in tone.
I admit that my easy enjoyment of the series was diminished due to my efforts to become reacclimated to what felt like totally new characters with a familiar history that somehow didn’t fit any longer.

Love the new narrator!

This narrator is great! So much better than the Gemini series and the short story about Harlow.

Love the series but this one doesn’t quite fallow

Del’s voice is wrong! She sounds like Cam. This is not as fun to listen to. Del is supposed to have a country twang. Very saddened by this.

Good

This book was good, but I got tired of Dell complaining about her ex. And then of course her ex ends up, showing up and things get a little bit spicy. Not to mention the witch showed up to put up their ward and he is also trying to get into dell’s good graces. And then of course these to do what most males in books do when women are around and try to one up each other which causes them both to get hurt. Not necessarily the same time. Dell and her pack are there to protect earth from unwelcome Fae from coming in to the human world And their job is to kill them but unfortunately that has caused a lot of problems. Then of course they come across some thing that they were not expecting at all. I did not really like the ending of this book because when the going gets tough Dells allies we’re not really around. Her alphas were off dealing with the conclave and left Dell alone to deal with PAC business as their beta and now she’s in trouble for doing that.
