Acerca de esta escucha

Adapting characters from Jane Austen's much loved tale, this novel takes Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy on a much different journey than Austen did in Pride and Prejudice. Through their fathers' friendship, Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy meet as children. Over the years, their feelings for each other grow and they promise themselves to each other, but unfortunate circumstances and interfering family members seek to keep them apart. Will misunderstandings and mistaken impressions divide Elizabeth and William forever? Clásicos Ficción Histórica Histórico Regencia

I enjoyed the writer’s characterizations, ideas and plot and twists, but OMG the Angst!! After 7 hours of obstacle after obstacle to keep Elizabeth and Darcy apart, I saw I had ANOTHER 7 hours to go. I thought about giving up on the story as I’m angst avoidance. Except I had enjoyed so much about this story, especially how Lizzy was portrayed. I loved her first meeting (at 10) with the fifteen year old Darcy and their next meeting in Meryton where she introduces herself as the Dread Pirate Lizzy. She was the real delight of the book with Darcy her infatuated admirer. But all the delays for the HEA. Geez. The “Voice” of the Virtual Voice was quite good, but the production of the reading (I’m not sure of the tech) has a lot of flaws that the listener must just put up with. For example, every so often a sentence ends with ‘end quote’ for no good reason. Another flaw is odd sounds every so often. I could overlook the issues because I really liked the story, but this would be some variation if read by Stevie Z, or one of the other P&P variation narrators.

Delightful Characterizations but Lots of Angst
