Publisher's summary

A queen. A captive kingdom. A gamble for salvation. After a lifetime of running away, now she must make a stand.

In a corrupted Cahraman, Ada is back on the streets, struggling to save her friends and the kingdom from the fallout of her devastating mistake. The only way to redeem herself is to put things back as they were, but that seems impossible when her enemy is all-powerful.

When Cyrus and her friends escape, their reunion turns bittersweet as her part in Nariman’s takeover is exposed. Now that Cyrus no longer trusts her, there is only one thing that could fix everything: the lamp. But her plan to steal it flings them on a treacherous quest for salvation through forgotten lands, unseen worlds, and a cave of wonders. A journey that tests their love, their knowledge of who they are, unearthing shocking truths about them all, and exposing the dark side of magic.

With no more secrets and no more need for lies, Ada’s goal is now to surmount the harrowing obstacles thrown her way and find the one thing that can defeat Nariman before it’s too late. But if she fails, they’re all doomed to this grim fate forever.

This is the third book in the Cahraman Trilogy. With even more twists, heart-pumping adventure and swoon-worthy romance, this thrilling sequel to Thief of Cahraman is for those who loved The Selection, A Court of Thorn and Roses, and Aladdin. Fairytales of Folkshore is a series of interconnected fairytale retellings. The series continues with Beast of Rosemead.

Ready for more by this author!

After the cliffhanger ending of book 2 I was so ready to find out what was going to happen to Ada after her decision to hand over the lamp to Nariman!! This story took place immediately following where we left off, and kept my attention until the very last page. Usually with series the books get less and less exciting as they go, or they lose a little bit of that spark, but I felt just as excited by this book as I did about book 1.

Ada is definitely a heroine that all young girls and women can relate to and be inspired by. I love her sass, spunk, and ability to believe in herself and try to stay true to what's important to her. It was fun seeing her back in a different setting away from the palace and learning more about the city where all of this is happening. I loved that not only was I worried about her the entire book, but some of the other smaller characters are ones that you fall in love with as well.

Lucy is absolutely one of my top authors. If I see any of her work I know it's something I'm going to want to listen to. Her ability to create worlds and characters that pull you in and have you excited for what happens next is next level. I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review, but in no way did that influence my love of this book! I would absolutely recommend it to others, and will eagerly wait for something else put out by this author!

Amazing Conclusion, Story AND Performance!

What can I say? This is by far the best series I've read (and listened to) in ages. I'm amazed this isn't a mega bestseller. The story is rich, the re-imagining is wholly original, the characters are complex and grow SO much throughout the trilogy, the romance is passionate (without sex), emotionally passionate and so convincing and just RIGHT! I haven't read two people who belong together in such a long time like Adelaide and Cyrus do. And each and every one of the side characters is exquisitely drawn and totally necessary. This is a longer book than the previous two books, but not one line is filler, every word is needed, and delightful. The adventure, the danger, the suspense, and the AMAZING world building and backstories AND twists you won't see coming....just perfection!

As for the narration....what a ride! So much expression and emotion. I felt I was watching a movie with a dozen powerful actors, not just listening to one narrator reading a story.

OK, off to listen to this again, and really savor each word and inflection. I can't wait for the rest of the series to be made into audiobooks, so I can own all formats and enjoy them all repeatedly.

Fairytales of Folkshore is an incredible new take and unprecedented weaving of so many fairytales, The Cahraman trolly is NOT to be missed by any fantasy lover, or anyone who just loves a tightly written, entertaining, fast-paced read. Every book is highly recommended in any format, but the audiobooks are an exceptional treat!

Amazing Ending to Aladdin!

This one starts right where the last one left off. With Cahraman overthrown and everyone in mortal danger, things start out tense and only get more exciting from there!

This one had less of Cora, Cherine, Fairuza, and the other characters from the first two books, but it had a lot of Cyrus and Ada together, which was really nice! So many secrets and truths were revealed, it was sometimes head-spinning.

The climax was really well done and the twists surprising. While I thought the villain's ending was cool, it did seem like the king had a very quick change of heart towards her, especially after everything that happened. But in the end, I loved the ending too much to care.

This is a good ending to this part of the series, and I can't wait to continue the series to find out what happened to Bonnie as well as get Cora's and Fairuza's stories!

The audiobook was very well done. Mary Hildenbrandt is becoming one of my favorite audiobook narrators, and I will probably pick up books simply because she's the narrator.

Great Read and Trilogy Conclusion

Book 3 was a great conclusion to the Thief of Cahraman trilogy. It has a fast moving plot that was interesting and tied together all of the threads of the previous 2 books. It also sets up the next story in the series. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves fair tales and romance.

The narrator was good. I listed to the book at regular speed as opposed to my normal 1.25 speed since the book is fast moving.
