Publisher's summary

Raymer, a member of the Raging Mountain family, has been locked in King Ember's Summer Palace dungeon for a year. His only crime is being born of the Dragon Clan. The cell next to him holds an emissary of a rival kingdom, an irreverent giant of a man named Quint. Together they plan a daring escape, but once free they find that only the two of them can prevent a war and save innocent lives. Raymer learns of some of the special abilities he has with dragons and must use those abilities to control a dragon and prevent a war while also protecting the secrets of the Dragon Clan.

Author's note - Book two of the Dragon Clan series. While these books are intended to be listened to in sequence, I have done my best to also make each of them stand alone as much as possible.

comraderie

I enjoyed this journey. I liked seeing the threesome band together for a common goal. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.

Great fantasy adventure story!

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The characters were interesting and funny. The three men who end up travelling together are as different as three men could be - two prisoners, one a nobleman and one a secretive clansman, and the third their former jailer. Despite their individual backgrounds and goals, the trio come together to save innocent lives from a dastardly king. Their journey to trust and friendship is full of adventure, danger, humor, and...dragons. There is also a mystery regarding who helped them escape in the first place. My only complaint is that the story ended without resolving all the issues. I hope that means that subsequent books will carry on the story. I really want to see Raymer, Quint, and Ander again!

The narration was generally good, although sometimes I couldn't differentiate whether it was Raymer or Quint speaking. Ander's "voice" was easier to distinguish. The narrator's vocal inflection really made Quint's dry humor stand out, and that was great!

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Second Book as Good as the First

I got this advanced reader copy via audiobook boom. I enjoyed the first book and was glad to get the second. It did not disappoint. I was kinda of surprised when the king kept the dragon in the basement cell. So what did he learn about dragons being locked up did he not understand. Oh well, it was still a good listen. The narrator was very good and helped move the story along.
