Publisher's summary

Cut through the noise, and create the biggest possible audience for your work. This book offers a proven method for expanding your reach online, so you can make a meaningful difference for others.

Anyone who makes the bold decision to put their ideas out into the world wants to reach as many people as possible. Unfortunately, too many think it’s a question of numbers—the more people you can get in front of, the better. But true reach is about expanding your audience while making a meaningful and enduring difference that has lasting a impact.

Reach provides a clear and structured approach to creating a successful online presence that will create the biggest possible impact for any message. Becky Robinson shares a framework to cultivate followers that requires four commitments: value, consistency, endurance, and generosity. When you make these four commitments, you’ll deliver memorable content on a regular basis while keeping the long-term view in mind and being committed to helping and sharing with others. Robinson offers guidance on having realistic expectations and meaningful goals, encouraging listeners to reflect on what they want to accomplish and with whom they want to connect.

Listeners will also learn how to overcome discouragements, create and repurpose content, and focus on the everyday activities that will spread ideas. This is a long-term process—one that doesn’t normally offer immediate results or guarantee the desired outcome. But, as Robinson reminds us, creating from a place of generosity can lead to benefits greater than you can imagine.

Wisdom from someone who’s been in the trenches

This book feels like it was written by someone who is actually been doing the work of reaching into the world. The number of stories she relays, the personal examples, the honest hardships, they all weave together to be a credible and motivating story about reaching into the world. As much as I love Becky’s voice in her podcasts, her word economy, the audiobook felt a little more mechanical.

Actually Helpful!

I keep going through books and information on marketing usually to find them to be… marketing. Rather than advice other works pitch their clinics, and companies, but don’t give enough to feel like you’ve received what you thought you’d paid for. Becky Robinson doesn’t make a pitch-work of her book “Reach.”

In this audiobook, Robinson gives a real explanation of things for marketers of books and ideas in hopes of grow their audiences along with references of where to get some things done. I will be listening to this audiobook again to take more notes on this subject, and ensure I’m on the right course.

There are a number of name-drops, but in context of the topics at hand.

One issue I have with Robinson’s performance is that her delivery feels like a reading rather than talking to the audience. You can feel some passion through her words, but the delivery is frequently flat.

I highly recommend this book for gathering information on the subject matter, and for its relevancy in 2022. The work, because of the platform references may become outdated should the internet giants she mentions fall, but… that’s probably eons away if they don’t MySpace out (and I loved MySpace).

Wonderful book to help you expand your reach!

This is such a wonderful book on getting yourself known by an audience. Her methods are even compatible with social-media-phobes like me. Her generosity is second to none, as she is not afraid to give her book away. I really appreciate her focus on value, consistency, generosity, and longevity. It's not a quick, get rich scheme. It's a slow system that builds over time. The other important part is her suggestion to focus on a single website and multiple social media channels. Your email list is important, because you own it, it is not subject to a black-box algorithm, or even worse, a company that disappears. Whether you have a book to sell, a charity to start or even artwork to present, this book will help you get started.

Inspiring and thoughtful read

I listened as I drove to parent's weekend at my daughter's college. It was almost as If a good friend were sitting next to me talking about what matters in life and how to make the most impact with the life we are given, how to really contribute to this world. I couldn’t help but think that Becky’s approach to developing Reach corresponds with what it takes to create a good life. She talks about the long game, the little things that can be done to create reach and how it’s about doing the little things over and over again. It’s about showing up and she gives many ideas as to how to show up. I liked this one enough that I’ll most likely be listening again. Thank you Becky for sharing your insight and your story in such an inspiring way.
