Publisher's summary

Join Agents Emma Monroe and Zack Armstrong. She's sacrificed. He's suffered. They've both been betrayed. Now it’s time for a reckoning. Special Agent Emma Monroe has a secret. She’s a Fallen Siren, cursed by the gods and banished to Earth for her failure to prevent the kidnapping of Persephone. As an FBI agent she saves the lives of others believing redemption could be one rescue away. Her partner Zack is a werewolf and former Black Ops sniper who once carried out a string of questionable assignments. Now he's determined to atone for his past. Ironically, there’s a portion of his past Zack doesn't remember - an affair with Emma. Giving into their attraction for one another almost led to their undoing. Now it's back to business as usual. While trying to unravel the mystery behind a series of kidnappings in Southern California, Emma and Zack become entangled with political tensions in the vampire and Were worlds. Not to mention the struggles they face in their relationship with one another. With so much uncertainty, they come to realize the only thing they can really count on is one another - or can they?

Awesome second book!

I love, love, love this series!!! There is so much going on and so many awesome levels. It has been a little while since the last book in the series, and I have forgotten a few things about the last book. There are plenty of reminders along the way, so if you did not read the first book, you will get caught up. But I definitely recommend reading the whole series in order.

Emma is a fabulous kick butt chick. I love that she is a Siren, I have always been a big fan of Greek mythology. This gives new levels to the myth and adds it to a modern setting. I kind of wish there were some of her sisters' stories as well. I know they are separated, but it would be great to get more than the hints of them this book gives.

There is plenty of yummy steam here. Especially when you have a Siren torn between a Vampire lover and a Werewolf soul mate. The bedroom door is wide open, detailed enough to heat a gal up. It isn't full erotic detail, but there is plenty of hot steamy stuff. Very mainstream kind of sexy.

The story this time is great, keeps to the missing persons police procedural end of things. The mix of standard police case and paranormal elements is fantastic. The world building is through and engaging. The storytelling was dynamic and smooth. Everything is from Emma's POV, so the narrative is limited to what she knows, thinks or is a party to.

The romance is there but not really the key plot line, it is more a side plot. The investigation takes center stage most of the time. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the book. Always eager to know what next. The supporting cast is colorful as well. I adore Simon, the techie vampire hacker. He is super fun to read, I hope to see much more of him.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Johanna Parker, who is terrific! I love her energy and the emotion she infuses into the read. She has a nice swift pace that moves with the action of the story. The accents a subtle, yet distinct. She is a real credit to the series. It was an enjoyable listen on all fronts!

I am a big fan of this series. I am more than eager for the next book. I hate waiting!! The ending gives just enough of a hint of things to come, it had me salivating for the next book!

Solid story

Solid story line and great narration. Like that each book continues with many of the same characters introduced in previous book.

Very enjoyable!

I find the plot getting very interesting. The growing awareness of Armstrong that there is something between them and that he cannot understand why the distance towards him. I am sad that the curse is still there and. I hope the next book will be available soon.

Great

I love these books. They kept my interest, can't wait for the next book in the series because it can't end here there has got to be more. The narrator was excellent . Most of you will remember her from the true blood series

Entire Book was Incredible

Would you listen to Reckoning again? Why?

I devoured this book and finished it in a day. I was captivated by the story line from the start till the very end. It has enough twist and turns to keep you enthralled. Totally like all the characters but love Emma, Zack & Kallistos. Of course, I want to see Emma & Zack together but understand why they are not due to the curse Demeter put on Emma. I sympathize with Emma due to what Demeter has and continues to put her through. Kallistos character can be a callus bastard but I can totally understand why. I do like that you get to see why he is this way but you also get to see the good qualities he has. In the end I must say this entire book was incredible. The only thing left now is pray that there will be a 3rd book to the Fallen Siren series.

Any additional comments?

Again have to say Johanna Parker does a great job narrating this book.

Good

The story in the book was great. Just the person reading it was very annoying voice. Wish I could change the voice. Didn’t like how that person read the book out loud. And I’m not liking the part of credits. Trying to do a series and now can’t even open up the last book because it says I have no credits. I’m not liking this app if I can’t do more than one book.
