Publisher's summary

Red earth. Ground zero.

Max Bowman has female problems. Specifically, three beautiful, rich daughters of three powerful and influential men - all of them with their own secret agendas. Unfortunately, Max doesn't know which one to trust or which way to turn, because a vicious killer is hot on his heels. And the most perplexing thing about this psychopath is that he isn't after Max himself - but everyone he knows and loves.

From New York City to Miami, from Washington D.C. to Sedona, Arizona, Max is on the run. And that's not easy when you have two broken toes.

Third installment of the award-winning Max Bowman series.

Terrific !!

This author built up suspense throughout the novel in a masterful way. Fast paced to the core. The plot kept my attention and there was no way I wanted to put the book down. Love the way he put this story together! My favorite of this author's mysteries so far!

Narration is a pleasant surprise with George Kuch.. which is the narrator of a series I also listen to.. great voice and emotion with realistic nuances..

A Very Entertaining Audiobook

What a great Audiobook! George Kuch brings Canfield’s Max Bowman to life. Max is out to save the day in his own style, with humor on the side. Three beautiful women should be a blessing but they are just warning signs of the danger Max is in. The ending will leave you ready for the next in the series. I found this to be an entertaining listen and a great story.

Note: When selecting books to read or listen to for reviews I try and select authors and stories that interest me. Sometimes I am fortunate and other times not so fortunate. Either way, I try to review the books with integrity.

A fun surprise

This is one of those books that if you go into totally blind without knowing anything at all, it's more enjoyable. If you're a prude language-wise, steer clear. If you live in the real world and see R-rated movies where people curse, then you will probably laugh at loud at some creative use of profanity here.

If you are looking for a fun, roller coaster ride of a book, give this one a try. The narrator keeps the pace going with great energy, and you won't be disappointed. I don't want to spoil it for you, so do what I did -- go into it blind and take a chance. You'll have a misadventure you won't soon forget. And by the way, I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this incredibly honest review.

Globe Trottin', Potty Mouthin', Cliff Hangin'

What did you love best about Red Earth?

George Kuch for beginners! I'm not sure if he can tear a phonebook in half, or even still find one but he could make even a phonebook interesting to listen to if he reads it!

And Joel Canfield's world of Max Bowman. this is the third installment and I have had the pleasure of listening and reviewing each of them.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Max, he is profane, funny and gets the job done!

What does George Kuch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

George! He makes everything he works on come to life. Laid back, or forceful, he is comfortable at both. A clear speaking voice, and it's clear that he prepares when he takes on a project. That shows!
All of this and he can ... sing and do magic tricks and juggle!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh and just darn entertained! Hurry up and get Book Four written and recorded!

Any additional comments?

BE AWARE: THERE IS LOTS OF POTTY MOUTHIN' AS HAS BEEN THE CASE IN THE PREVIOUS BOOKS IN THE SERIES! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED IF THIS TYPE OF LANGUAGE OFFENDS YOU!

In my opinion, this is well worth the Audible credit and listening time!

Thanks for the opportunity to listen and offer my opinions on this work!

A review copy was gifted to me at no charge. In return, I am happy to provide an honest review. Also at no charge.

what a book!

Joel Canfield is a new author to me, while George Kuch is a narrator whom I've listened to before several times. I loved the performance of this book! There is humor and suspense in this book. I thought the ending was somewhat of a cliffhanger, which I do not like. Warning this book has language that some might find offensive. Max Bowman is the man!

Any additional comments?
I fell in love with Max Bowman in book one. We married and had kids in book two. With book three, we bought the picket fence, got the dog, and joined the PTA. I love this character!!!

First off, George Kuch NAILS Max Bowman. The narration is practically Oscar worthy (or whatever they give narrators.)

Then, the story. Blew. Me. Away.

There is so much that happens in this listen that I think you benefit most from having listened to the first two books. Even without that though, what a story. And that ending!!!! I did NOT see that coming.

Now I'm just sitting hear wondering how long I have to wait for the fourth book. Dude!

Good Ole Times - bring it on Max!

Max has been nursing his feelings with a generous helping of Jack when he gets pulled in to a mystery. George Kuch is Max and no imagination is needed. I am not aware of other books that George has narrated, but he nailed this one. Max is a very relatable age (mine) but lives a life of bizarre twist and turns. I enjoyed the book and will have to check out #4 in the series. I was provided a copy for my honest opinion. Bring it on Max!

A good book after a long time.

Would you try another book from Joel Canfield and/or George Kuch?

This is the first book I've listened to in this series. Even though this one can work as a stand-alone book on its own, I thought I'm missing something from time to time. so, I would definitely want to read the earlier books in the series.

What does George Kuch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration really brings the story to life. The suspense buildup is nice and the narrator breaths power in those scenes with impeccable voice modulation.

Any additional comments?
