About this listen

Sloane: Dominic Alexander is my late husband's best friend and the last man that I should want. For the last ten years, he's taken a sick pleasure in making me feel paper thin, like my existence is of no consequence to him at all.

But now, things are different.

After a drunken night, and a surprisingly sexy act of heroism, he's started to be . . . nice. Treating me like something other than the embodiment of his annoyance, which would be nice if it didn't make me feel things I swore to never feel for another man after my husband died.

Dominic: Sloane Kent is going to be my undoing.

What's worse: I think I'm going to enjoy being unraveled by the gold flecks in her hazel eyes and the way she scrunches her nose when we're arguing, which we've done a lot of over the past decade. She thinks it's because I hate her, and I've let her think that because the alternative is . . . untenable.

But something is changing between us, and I don't know how to stop myself from breaking every promise I've ever made to myself regarding my best friend's wife. Promises that include never telling her that there's a long list of things I feel about her, but hate isn't one of them.

Contains mature themes.

SENSATIONAL!!!!

Let me just say, that I was NOT ready for what this book was going to give. I read a brief description about a man falling for his best friends widow and was unsure if I would truly like it. Fortunately, I had heard so many good things that I decided to give it a shot AND BABY.....IM SO GLAD I DID! One thing that makes a good romance, in my opinion, is angst! I want to be taken on a journey of longing, sexual tension, desire. Ms. Seegars definitely did that and was an amazing captain along the way!

Ok, So to briefly describe this enemies to lovers romance, Sloan ends up taking a job with her deceased husbands best friend. The same best friend who she has always assumed hated her. Dominic has definitely had his sparring matches with Sloan but little does she know he has always had a soft spot for her and after an incident where he comes to her aide, he decides to let it be known just how deep his feelings for her go. His revelation jars Sloan but she eventually succumbs to his advances.

I was completely enthralled in this story from beginning to end. I loved the relationship between Sloan and Dominic! It started out kinda rocky but by the end, you were completely routing for them. AND THE SPICE.....10/10!!!!!! J.L really got me out her looking for my real life Dominic Alexander!

If you need a super cute, romantic and spicy read....this is the one. I highly recommend!!

True Love is real

I love the dynamic of Sloan relationship with her in laws. Although her mom is mean she has a great mother in law who loves and understands her dearly. Dom is such a sweet guy, I love how he suprised her with a home and a forever

Great story

Awful female narrator. James Winston was fabulous as usual but so much of the book was read by her I nearly stopped listening about 6 times. Since she is the female narrator for the reminder of the series I will not listen anymore which is disappointing because I really like the Mallory character.

Love Beating The Odds

This book was such a pleasant surprise; I enjoyed every minute. The background was described with visual clarity, I could actually see the details of the college campus; I could feel the struggle between Sloan and her mother. There was no down time in this book. It was laid out perfectly with a few surprises thrown in. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Different but enjoyable

As most the lady narrator was not a good fit for this book. Wesleigh Siobhan or iikane would have been the better fit. The storyline was good, but the lady character had her annoying ways. Maybe a bit longer than need be.

That was an unexpected twist! I loved this story!

The FMC’s narration was a little cringy at times, but the story makes up for it. Dom, Dom, Dom!! He’s a man dreams are made of…swoon.

Great story.

This was really a good story! Less female narration would have kept me more focused. I found myself uninterested and had to keep rewinding more than I preferred.
