About this listen

"I'm not your savior."

I didn't want to be worshiped like some deity—an instant replacement for the asuras. For so long, these people looked up to the asuras as gods, but the asuras kept trying to kill them.

Arthur Leywin has finally returned to the continent of Dicathen, but his home is still firmly in the hands of the enemy. His display of unprecedented power brings hope to his allies and fear to his enemies. It also deeply embroils him in a conflict between the godlike asuras, with Agrona Vritra on one side and Kezess Indrath on the other.

With the crimes of his past life haunting him in the form of the Legacy, Arthur can no longer afford to hone only his strength. He must also empower those closest to him or risk losing them all.

love the story. got hooked when there was only 7 books release. rehears them each time a new book dropped.

this one was hard to get through. I don't like the split narators. Travis was one of the big draws for me on this series. hearing the voices of known characters change back and forth is wierd and off putting.

Travis is all you need!

Just not a fan of the new narrator. She’s real breathy. The story was great but somehow didn’t really move that far along. Nice getting more of the world though.

Disconnected Dual Performance

Everything was exceptional as always with this series! However, this entry added a second narrator to start playing all the female characters their own voice. After a jarring moment as is with any change when a character’s voice changes, it took me by surprise but after a bit was welcomed! My only complaint is that whenever they switched narrators, that person would be the voice for everyone including the characters that are being voiced by the other narrator. It made the whole transition harder to accept and like, truthfully. I hope going forward, it will become more natural and connected where each narrator continually voices their characters rather than everyone during the chapter(s) they are reading at the time.

Takes some time to adjust, but still good.

No offense to the other narrator Elizabeth, but I prefer when it was only Travis narrating. Maybe if she was involved in the other ebooks it wouldn't be so hard to adjust, and there tempo doesn't really match. Both are great narrators just very different, also the having 2 different voices for the same character didn't help. In the end though I enjoyed it, the book was beautifully written and narrating was shaking but good. I love Travis Baldree and Elizabeth was good also.

great story with weird, jarring dual narration

another banger for one of the best series out there.

Only problem being the unfathomable decision to have 2 narrators do the same voices. originally when I saw the cast, I was excited. I thought, maybe this is like those full cast readings where Travis does the men and this new Elizabeth does the women. But no...it's this strange thing where depending on if it's a man or woman's perspective for the chapter, they read the whole chapter.

This was almost fine except that it means they both still read for all characters in the chapter meaning nearly every character now has 2 voices in the book! It's super jarring and honestly Elizabeth doesn't have the range or feeling as the 9 books we've had of Travis. Everyone who had some spice in their voice with Travis, like Mica and Gideon... completely flat with Elizabeth reading. Hope they never do this again.

Amazing

I only have one thing I didn’t like. The 2nd, female narrator. Should have just kept the same guy who has been doing it. Adding the 2nd narrator just killed the experience at some points in the story. The story is as amazing as always and the ending just has me invested enough to look forward to the next book

Honestly, Everything

The story keeps getting better and better. It’s without a doubt one of my favorite series I’ve read/listened to. The voice actors do a great job with emotion and giving different voices to different characters. I’d highly advise this series to anyone who’ll listen

Horrible narrating

Just horribly read, is there no quality control on something like this?? Often times I didn’t even know who was supposed to be speaking when Travis wasn’t reading. Please for the love of all the fans release a Travis only version

Fantastic

I'll admit I have not finished the book yet and I'm currently listening to it. I just wanted to add that I think Elizabeth Evans is doing a fantastic job. Travis baldree is top tier when it comes to narration but it's always nice to have a woman doing the narration for the female characters.

great story, no need for new narrator

I love the story! I'm having a hard time finishing. I've imprinted the existing voices from Travis in my mind for years and now it gets all messed up, she is a fine narrator in her own right but it ruined the existing feel and flew of the series. if it happens again i probably will stop buying the series
