Publisher's summary

Brian Lumley, author of the best-selling Necroscope and Vampire World series of novels, has for many years been a devotee of H. P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos. By such nightmare fables as Dagon, The Call of Cthulhu The Shadow Over Innsmouth, Lovecraft’s legendary Deep Ones have taken their place in terror fiction alongside the vampire and the werewolf. Now they are given the Lumley treatment in—Return of the Deep Ones!

But the Mythos was not restricted to tales of oceanic horror; nightmares out of space and time—and inner earth—abound in Lovecraft’s fiction. Thus, with the addition of Beneath the Moors, Inception, and the novella, Lord of the Worms, Brian Lumley offers his latest homage to Lovecraft the Master.

Now, from forbidden depths of dream and ocean, the Return of the Deep Ones!

In the field of no-holds-barred terror fiction, there’s Brian Lumley—and then there’s the rest.…

The narration was absolutely top tier.

The stories, while all very well written, were inconsistently engrossing, and the last two in particular had slumps in their pacing I found myself struggling to maintain interest through.

Great Dagon!

The Shadow over Innsmouth and it's legacy has always left a literary mark on me. I, myself, am a Rhode Island native so the Lovecradr stories are part of me. Brian Lumley knows how to tell a tale and his Titus Vrow stories and Deep One tales are worthy.

Amazing to hear!

The pairing of Joshua Saxon's voice to the words of Master Lumley is that nice again, sheer genius. the vocalizations Joshua seems to pull from thin air add to the overall excitement of the reading of Brian's books.

continuing his journey into the Cthulhu mythos, Lumley dives deep and the result is worth every nuanced syllable that, pardon the phrase, comes to life under the guise of Joshua's voice.

This one took an entire day to get through and it was worth ignoring the real world to dive into this one.

Truly, a match made in audiobook heaven brings us listeners another piece of ear candy to sit back and enjoy. lights on or off, a scarily good journey to take for those who enjoy the mythos and what it holds in store for us to enjoy!

Sooo good

I really like Brian Lumley and Joshua Saxon is a great narrator as always. There were some stories that I’ve never heard before and a few I have, very much worth the credit!

It should have been 5 stars...

...But the stars 🌟 weren't right. The power of the mythology wasn't presented. The fault belongs to the individual who selected the Narrator. The Narrator we received would be very good for a Sherlock Holmes adventure; not our book. You may love it. I did not. I will read the book myself and supply my own voice to the smashing good text of the book. Thank you!
