Good story but beware reader change

I really like the series idea, the storyline, and the writing. I very much enjoyed listening to the first book in this series, so I was looking forward to this one. My mistake was not noticing that it was read by AI, unlike the first one I listened to. The AI voice had a pleasant sound but definitely was robotic in its expression. The narrator can make or break the experience of listening to a book. I’ll pay more attention to that with future books.

The first one of the San Juan Island mystery series was well read, with the only minor glitch being the pronunciation of island names. The actual reader was good, but apparently hadn’t listened to anyone from Washington pronounce the local place names. That is a bit jarring to those who live in or know that area.
